Nick Saban is 1-0 vs the Carolina Panthers.

Think about it.

oh i wouldn't forget the high of beating the patriots only to lose in miami the very next week in 2005

#3086560 The Gettleman Experience

We had 7 draft picks. Hurney didn’t take those away from us. Not to use any on an OT is mind-bogglingly incompetent. As for Steve Smith, we had to PAY HIM MILLIONS to cut him. The decision to cut him was retarded

the cap savings for cutting smith was $2 million actually.  every team in the league at one time or another "pays" a player to play somewhere else.  i don't know where this meme that it's this dumb thing that only the panthers have ever done comes from but i see it mentioned a lot.

the OT argument is just a rehash of the "gettledouche should have done SOMETHING!1" circle jerk.  non-specific and basically useless.  unless you wanted joel bitonio in the first (he's currently playing at guard) or the panthers to sell the house for jake matthews, greg robinson, or taylor lewan (which buttfugs us again in 2015) then you're talking cyrus kouandijo or morgan moses who have both been garbage.  oh yeah, and kelvin benjamin wouldn't be here either.

britt is the only other option that makes anything close to any kind of sense in the second, and he's getting played at right tackle right now.  neither of them are going to start at LT as rookies so we're still looking at the byron bell show there.  fabulous.

i don't even entertain the arguments for henderson and hurst.  yeah it's interesting that two former UDFAs in chandler and bell are too sorry to be considered starters but the solution for that problem is apparently either an UDFA rookie or a rookie 7th rounder.  neither are playing particularly well either.

Gettleman is the kind of person I think gave his kids an Atari 5600 for Christmas when his kids asked for an xbox.

if his wife had maxed out the credit cards then that's probably the right thing to do

putting away a few before kickoff has helped me

really took the edge off those early turnovers in the eagles game

A lot damn better than it would have been without him.

What kind of question is this? You're blaming Smith for the Panthers not winning more games?

Do you expect him to go out there and get Ws all by himself? He sure as hell did his part in the Ws we did get when he was here.

so we'd have won more games with him here than not but it's unfair to bring up what the panthers actually did w/l wise when he was on the roster?

the airtight logic of smitty fanboys, everyone

peppers couldn't have cared less that he wasn't a panther anymore

So... when he was in Carolina it was acceptable, ya know, Steve Smith being Steve Smith.  Ya know, flossin' and being like all cool and hip, as the kids say.  Now, he's moved to a different team and it's unacceptable?  Personal insults - bad father, arrogant, etc...Yep, hypocrisy.  It's awesome!

He is just making a fun comment on a horrible talk show.  He is an eccentric, flavor filled character.

Shrug it off, walk it off, whatever it takes to realize the most important thing about the Carolina Panthers is THIS Sunday, not last year.

anybody with a lick of awareness who watched steve smith's antics here knew they wouldn't appreciate it if they were directed at the panthers

also you should know that you're not the first sanctimonious toolbox to make this argument

And this differs from his original plan to take a $7 million vacation all season on the panthers roster how?

#3083571 Olsen is the only one that gives a crap.....

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 12 November 2014 - 08:21 AM

Like?

lack of depth at offensive tackle is a much more serious issue and if you seriously think steve smith would have made up for deficiencies in that area i don't know what to tell you

zod, a guy who actually knows people inside the organization and has been in that locker room, has also repeatedly spoken of the fact that nobody looked to smith for leadership.  the idea of him being some kind of player-coach because he's old and a former all pro is a fan perception of it.

norwell has genuinely not looked like a rookie and turner was playing well before he was injured.  the interior of the line is probably alright as-is which makes what needs fixing easier to focus on.
