unless you're hammering F5 on some important guy's twitter and you see a piece of breaking news and come rushing over to the huddle to post it seconds later, odds are there's a thread covering it already if it's anything anybody cares about

#2812627 Tiny Richardson turning heads with Vikings

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 07 June 2014 - 09:54 AM

^ True, but football is a game of inches where I want every one we can get. Coaches make millions to exploit weaknesses. Even Stevie Wonder could see our need last year at WR and need this year at OT. To read that Rogers saved Luck(y)'s season makes my skin crawl. To read Tiny's turning heads after we don't even draft an OT should make anyone miffed. Also true about not getting everyone, but our need/desirability should trump Minnesota. Still love GMan.

you have a vested interest in this as a tennessee homer.

we saw the exact same talk out of tar heels fans over hurst.  the difference is there are enough wal mart UNC fans on this board to have something of an echo chamber going on in those threads.

i mean using this approach shouldn't we stop worrying about wide receiver because philly brown was "turning heads" in OTAs?  maybe there's an ohio state fan that could drop by and tell us about the "low risk/high reward stud" we nabbed with that pick signing since he looks great in shorts?

the colts clenched the AFC south at 8 wins last season

luck's division is every bit the dumpster fire that the AFC west was back when the teboner-lead broncos backed in to the playoffs or the NFC west when it was the hasselbeck seahawks and three other teams that barely had a pulse.

#2810912 Kaepernick gets mega-deal

Classless? Were on an internet forum! How much class do we need?

I can hate on kaep all I want, and quite frankly, I was trying to ruffle the feathers of the niner fans in this thread.

OK, I'll have a bit more class.. Sir, kapernick has a big nose and a small brain

as if 49ers fans, particularly the flat-brim wearing 15 year old internet tough guys that are bandwagoning on them right now, are paradigms of class themselves

they were much easier to take when they were lovable losers a few years ago

Anecdotes is code for defeated stereotypes one lives to perpetuate.

what kind of word salad is this

so does this mean you're never going to be posting about how a child needs two involved parents to succeed ever again?  because this kid sure smashed that myth am i right.

the fact that this is a news story in the first place is proof enough that what this kid did is exceptional, commendable, and exceptionally rare.  it is absolutely idiotic to look at something like this and say "ha ha!  looks like the death blow has been dealt to the liberal culture of victimhood!  turns out someone who was disadvantaged in most every way imaginable can succeed in american society!" which, unless i severely misunderstood madhatter and have completely misjudged his persona on this site, is exactly what he was trying to say.

And the good thing for us, is he has no qualms showing it. Just think, without the interwebz, we'd be missing out on his unique brand of humor. Football and humor, for free. Damm I love this country.

we truly live in an amazing time.

twenty years ago the only person who would see haplo's opinion committed to text would be some intern reviewing submissions for the opinion section at his local newspaper before he tossed it in the "reject" pile.

e: lol

Peppers is going to have a HUGE season this upcoming season and win the Defensive Player of the Year Award... he's been training like an animal is fully healthy for the first time in since 2010, after playing through a sprained MCL in his left knee in 2011 and plantar fasciitis in his feet in 2012.

yeah that's what happened right

Don't forget the part about the woman giving birth in chains. And how the sudanese have already taken her son, and will now take custody of her daughter. But, I guess the stupid bitch deserves it cause she and her husband are christians, right? maybe if they were properly enlightened our gov would care about the spouses of its citizens? And their children? Sorry, but this family better stick to their god seeing how the world has already abandoned them.,

yep that's what i got out of this story

With that logic, Kam Chancellor doesn't count either because he was taken the same year as hardy just one round earlier in the 5th. Sherman was taken one year later so he counts? I don't understand where the cutoff point is.

Just a little advice, no one will take you seriously if you come up with arbitrary reasons to discredit someone's response simply because you don't want to be wrong about something. You are basically acting like the kid on the schoolyard who makes up rules in the middle of a game just so he can win.

If you didn't want people to say Hardy, you should have added "other than Greg Hardy" to your original comment.

Back to the original point: the seahawks have gotten very lucky with their late round talent, A bunch of their other picks have turned into jack crap, and that's the early round guys. The late rounds are a crapshoot, nothing else. Just because they hit on a couple doesn't make them the end all to be all of scouting departments. If they keep doing it, then yeah, I'll concede that they are the best. But until they hit on 100% of their picks, I'll chalk it up to good fortune for late round guys.

seattle had what will probably be considered two historically signficant drafts back to back with ludicrous value and production all over the place.  that kind of thing is rare and is not something that's easily replicated.  the 2010 draft was a once in a decade A+ kind of grand slam home run.  their first four selections in the 2011 draft were good if nothing amazing and it was sherman with the fifth pick that made the entire draft in the popular consciousness.

that guy is aceboogie's kid brother and he's not worth arguing with.  he knows that the real bullets won't start flying for several months so he can jerk off over what everybody else's draft looks like on paper and use circular logic all he wants to prove that dave gettleman is the worst GM in NFL history and nobody can prove him wrong.

think about what we look like to the media

-didn't have a need-based draft that looks awesome on paper

-didn't go on a spending spree in FA

-two franchise pillars for the last decade gone

there are going to be many more articles like this
