#3373708 Falcons fans pissed. Brunells QBs rankings

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on Yesterday, 07:56 AM

vick didn't care about football at all per his own admission in atlanta.  i remember reading an interview where he admitted that he had never learned how to actually do film study until he was playing under andy reid in philadelphia.

that and it took him until 2010 to put together a season as a passer that's comparable to any of cam's.  he never passed for 3000 yards for the falcons, had a passer rating above 80 only once, and the best comp % he ever put up was 56.4.  they aren't the same type of player at all and i automatically dismiss any dumbass who pops off about "way-ull you see fellas that there cam aint nothin but another vick"

hell the way they use their "athleticism" (i'm putting that in scare quotes because you know what those dipshits really mean when they reference it) is completely different.  cam is much more powerful and physically imposing than vick.

#3373538 2011 NFL draft revisited, would you take JJ Watt over Cam?

One of the things I've noticed is that negative contrarians are like millennial hipsters in that if their take is deliberately negative to the team and against the relative norm then they think they are being cool, hip or edgy (re: unique and original thinkers).

And that's juvenile. I've seen many posters who are well thought out and have different opinions but express those opinions calmly and logically. And strangely the huddle doesn't put those people on blast.

Sure some get butthurt and then realize a rational discussion is happening and chill out. Mostly I've seen sane, pragmatic discussions. But if you choose to feel persecuted because of your edgy take and you give that take with a hipsters air of arrogance...well you just might get called out for the petulant child you're being.

That said, I've found most Huddlers to be sane and rational if you conduct yourself like an adult. Most are nice people that I've met. But I have noticed a slight irrational tone when it comes to Cam being persecuted by the media. But I can forgive that. Huddle gonna huddle.

all of this

it's like people think they deserve a pat on the butt just for disagreeing with everyone and holding an unpopular opinion.  it's like it doesn't matter that their arguments don't make sense (hurr the only reason anybody knows who luke kuechly is is because of marketing) or they seemingly don't understand basic poo (like what a 3-4 DE is typically asked to do vs. what a 3-4 outside linebacker is typically asked to do)-they're brave enough to be a loudmouth on the internet so they deserve to be praised and taken seriously.

yes mr. special snowflake it's rare and unusual for a person to have an opinion on a topic.

#3373116 Explain your Huddle username

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 21 May 2015 - 01:39 PM

for months there would be halfway decent topics going on discussing the intricacies of greg hardy's legal issues but inevitably some harvard law school grad would stick his head in the thread and go "guys i mean he was found guilty" or something similar as if it was something that hadn't been considered.

i've posted under a bunch of different dumb usernames.  nicks to the colts was one mocking the huddle meltdown of the day in 2014 when nicks went off the market.  before that it was i registered to post this because i had seen someone else using it on another site to demonstrate that they had actually made a new account to comment on one issue.  i thought it'd be funny for someone with thousands of posts to post with that username but obviously it wasn't.

kuechly is all alone as the gold standard now.  that's pretty swell.

#3372667 Music these days...

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 21 May 2015 - 07:08 AM

except it's easier than ever to listen to literally hundreds of thousands of bands any time you want

it's a fun thought exercise to juxtapose all the complaints about entitled, shallow millenials with the main grandpa simpson complaint that "bah of the 20 songs in heavy rotation on modern pop stations i'm not hearing the next black sabbath or REM so that means modern music is terrible and it's hard to find anything good"

well that's true except for that whole internet thing

Really? You are a hypocrite give me a second I'm about to bump and quote the post where you called Wagner better than Kuechly and called him slow and nonathletic.

you could have just copied/pasted the posts instead of bumping a bunch of old threads

imagine how mad haplo is going to be when watt is inducted into the hall of fame and is considered one of the greatest defensive linemen to ever suit up and is in the company of bruce smith, reggie white, and deacon jones

i remember watching an interview from the 70s where pink floyd discussed critics accusing them of being untalented hacks because their sound effect and synthesizer heavy albums "weren't real music" and that anybody could do it lol

e: it was one of the interviews from live at pompeii

#3366443 In twenty years, what's your favorite win to date?

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 14 May 2015 - 10:40 AM

Hard to choose 1.  I loved getting to actually be in stadium for 2 wins last year (Including the Zona playoff game) after living in Louisiana my whole life, but the one that always just sticks out (aside from the obvious ones, Xclown, Cowboys, ect) is week 1 2008 when we scored with no time left to beat the Chargers.  For those who don't remember, Jake was coming off the infamous Tommy Jone surgery (his first game back), and Smitty was suspended due to breaking a defensive backs face.  So with the question marks we had going into the game, a win wasn't some sort of sure thing, but this jump started one of the best seasons in franchise history (unfortunately punctuated by one of the biggest dissapointments in franchise history.)

there was this hilarious video on youtube years ago that was like five or six charger fans reacting to that play as it happened live

my favorite part was how you could hear somebody mutter "that took longer than one second" or something to that effect after the play as if it shouldn't have counted or something

#3366395 In twenty years whats the worst loss to date?

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 14 May 2015 - 09:58 AM

obviously the super bowl has to be the worst

the worst game i've ever been to was the cardinals implosion.  it was a nightmare and one of those things that i just couldn't believe was actually happening in front of me.

2007 against the falcons was another poo game that i saw in person.  we let joey harrington drive on us like john elway for a game winning touchdown.  we were at 4-4 going in to that game and still had an outside shot at the division even though we had started delhomme, carr, and vinny testaverde by that point.  the nfc south was terrible that year and the bucs won it at 9-7.

#3366242 Lmao....

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 14 May 2015 - 07:26 AM

Never heard of.

And yeah, new Panthers fan.

he hasn't gotten significant snaps since 2006

simms is somewhat infamous in panthers fandom because al wallace and julius peppers almost literally killed him

#3365972 How many true, lifelong Panthers fans are actually out there?

Posted by I Mean He Was Found Guilty on 13 May 2015 - 10:38 PM

i'm 28 and didn't pay attention to pro football before the panthers.  the only pro sports team i really gave a crap about was the atlanta braves.
