#2296726 Bro, seriously run to the lawyer and get a divorce NOW!

Posted by Murph on 23 July 2013 - 02:03 PM

First thing I'm going to do when I get home is give the Mrs. a hug and tell her thank you for everything she does for our family. Yeah, it is a bit of a pussy reaction but that video has made me appreciate what I have even more.

Jeez, I can not imagine having to endure a woman like that.

I plan to retire by 55.

I said the same thing 10 years ago. Then kid #1 arrived, then #2, then #3.

I will probably die behind this desk.

#2289038 North Carolina goes to a flat tax, other tax reforms too

Posted by Murph on 16 July 2013 - 08:01 AM

The number of people I have encountered in my life who would prefer to have their taxes NOT lowered I can count on one hand with some fingers left over. And I am a tax preparer for over 20 yrs so I have met a lot of people. This thread has increased the number of fingers 3fold. You people are weird.

For the record, lowering my income taxes = :D

Wanting to keep your taxes higher so that you hope that a poorly run, full of red tape government will take that money and use it to help the underprivileged or properly invest it in infrastructure that will improve the lives of whole community is a reach...at best. Take the increase in your income tax refund next year and go buy some coats to donate to your local homeless shelter. Or write a check and donate to your local rape crisis center. Or buy some dog food and donate to your local animal no kill shelter. Or buy some season tickets to your local theater to help fund some actors who have high dreams but really need to keep their jobs. The possibilities are endless.

Upsetting the New York Times editorial staff because we are no longer progressive enough for their tastes tickles me to no end.

#2266337 hungry for some rumors?

I understand that Minny and their fans think that Derrick Williams + #9 + #26 for our #4 is too much to give up but I want Cho to stand pat with that offer and not sweeten it any. If they want #4 that badly & do not want to take on any additional salary then they do need to pay...heavily.

#2266085 Case for keeping Henderson

Posted by Murph on 24 June 2013 - 09:10 AM

I do not think 5 million per year will be quite enough to keep him here but I do not think he will get 7 million per from any other teams. Somewhere in between will work just fine and be a good value for a 25 year old averaging 15-16 ppg. Tender him, let him test the market and then come back with a five year/30 million dollar offer. Let the 5th year be a team option. Reasonable on both sides.

#2262648 Paula Deen

It is not disgusting at all. Everybody involved is doing it willingly and for fun. Why is this even an issue? Reenactments of all kinds take place all over the country. Are we going to censor and shame every one of them if it even has a glimpse of something that some find distasteful? I find a lot things of TV, music and magazines very distasteful like glorifying violence, promoting women to be sex objects and/or obtain an image or size that is unrealistic. Constant vile language. Yet it seems any arguments against goes unnoticed or are considered promoting censorship.

Also, need pics of wife in scrubs to determine my pity level for that situation.

#2261527 My morning...

Posted by Murph on 19 June 2013 - 09:18 AM

1) Wake up to no hot water

2) Go to basement and find hot water heater spewing from every pipe and seam. It is shot

3) Turn off water to heater & at switchboard. Too early to call a plumber.

4) Inform wife of situation when she walks in from her morning run.

5) Call plumber, he can come later today but unlikely to completely get us up and running again until tomorrow. He is good guy and a friend so we decide to wait.

6) The icing on the cake to my morning: To make light of the situation I tell my wife to put on her scrubs & give me a sponge bath. After a few seconds of a blank stare she walks off telling me that it is good there is no hot water because I need a cold shower. Oh and she also informs me that our bank account is low right now because she just bought her and each of the girls several new swimsuits from one those catalogs she gets in the mail everyday so I will have to pay for the repairs out of my office account.

7) FML

Dang I just realized something. I am a white male, I am overweight, and I am a smoker.

I might be the most hated person in America. :(

Are you a member of the westboro Baptist church? If not there is hope for you.
