#2410148 Panthers Begin Head Coach Search?

Posted by CRA on 06 October 2013 - 10:10 AM

I agree. He knows every game counts as a must win....I don't think anything could motivate him further from what he already knows.

If it was a legit leak, it was for the players sake.

I don't buy that...

All I buy is Richardson forced RR/Cam on him for one year.....and then he can move in his own direction. Why his real investment was on a DG defense.

DG IMO could have helped RR by fixing some glaring issue on his OL. Had the ability to upgrade and didn't.

i thiknk that what we've found out is that getting cam running early is not only the spark the O needs to get things going, but also the key to really getting the D spread out.

if we have cam take off like he did against the giants i think we'll get the better of them.

Cam definitely needs to run....hopefully Shula sees getting away from that to fit some Gettlemen dream isn't the way.

Cam should have a designed run on the first series of every game. He just seems to get in a comfort zone when he is doing it. Gross spoke on this before last year.

With our running game resurging, I feel we'll manage to put up a respectable 24 points. I'm not convinced their defense is good enough to stop us in this area. As far as their offense is concerned, Carson Palmer is a decent QB, but I think he's going to get shaken up early by who other then the Kraken, and will struggle. I'm predicting when win this game convincenly: 24-13

If AZ hasn't proven to have a good rush D.....we haven't proven to have a good rush attack.

I see our rush getting bottled up or contained. Running for the sake of running to keep the play action respected IMO.

Defense IMO will need to win this game. AZ likely saying the same. Tougher game IMO than most are expecting

They have yet to face a top 20 rushing attack this season.

Panthers are a top 5 rushing attack.

I think we will have success.

Panthers also have faced the 27th, 28th and 18th rush defenses.

like most weeks, we go in confident or worried about something and it gets flipped on its head.

This would be a potential area to watch for.

God write up. I agree on all points. Speaking as someone who was about thirty yards away when Kraken laid that smack down on Carson last year (it rattled MY fillings, not mention what it did to Palmer), I can't help but believe he'll have a bad case of sweaty palms when he sees Hardy lining up against him. How about a similar analysis for the offense?

They have some playmakers in the secondary.....I think we need a somewhat conservative offense approach unless forced to open it up.

Can't allow there one strength to have a big impact.

#2400900 Deangelo Williams Hitting His Stride

I should have said "besides CRA" obviously

Williams is running well.....he isn't doing 2008 type junk. To say other RBs shouldn't see the field when healthy is silly. Especially ones that have different roles/abilities.

Problem with the DWill fan club....is they take matter of fact comments as DWill hate

At least that terrible contract went to a really hard worker and even better person. You want true meltdown- see Haynesworth

Can't argue that....

With Stewart's injury concerns (and contract) he could be the first part we axe....we might hopefully end up with Williams playing a Fred Taylor role here. Maybe Barner can be his understudy like MJD was .....the young talented kid next season.

Half of his runs went for fewer than 2.5 yards against the giants.

He doesn't have any burst left, and his total yards are a product not of a high ypc but an unsustainable number of touches.

I'm gonna do a thread about it when I have time but his first three games are gold dust.

Yep, when Barner's toenail grows in and he gets on the field.....people will see burst. Young blood at work.

Williams is running better than last year. He is picking up 2-3 or so consistently instead of going down at the line. Makes a difference vs the guy we saw last year

The whole recent notion that this is a passing league and therefore good running attacks aren't important is negated by the fact that 6 of the top 10 rushing teams made the playoffs in 2012. And 3 of the four teams that played in the Championship games last year were on this list. The other Baltimore was 11th on the list.

I think the notion is....if you build your team right you don't need to spent tons of money on your backfield.

#2379151 Game Grades - Panthers at Bills

Posted by CRA on 15 September 2013 - 05:23 PM

Defense gets a D-

Can't give them a D-.....they practically set our O up for easy points. The O did nothing. If the O did their job people would be giving this D a higher grade

Just pathetic. Rivera ball got us again

Yeah, bc Ron Rivera is at fault for DeAngelo fumbling AGAIN against Seattle....

We were marching in...

Williams cost as last year with a HUGE fumble giving them the lead. Good game was called.

i've spent some time watching him on game rewind

he's probably in the most friendly system for a young quarterback imaginable.  even though ESPN built him up like he was sitting back in the pocket picking apart defenses like brady, it's pretty obvious that there are a lot of one-read concepts in his offense if you actually watch his games.  lots of quick hitters off three step drops and screens.

of course, that notion would fly in the face of the "cerebral" griffin vs. "stupid" newton narrative that seems to be floating around.

also his arm is only so-so and he puts up a ton of ducks when he attempts truly vertical passes.

Cam's rookie season was much more impressive than RGIII from an individual standpoint.

Cam was asked and did make much  more difficult throws.
