#2221584 Five NFC teams that failed to fill needs (ATL & CAR included)

Posted by CRA on 03 May 2013 - 10:40 AM

This years draft class lacked talent at wide receiver. Gettle worked most of them out and must have not liked what he saw, but the fact he worked out ten or more says he plans to address that position. Next years receiver class is great and we could have a potentially elite receiver in the first or second round.

he almost drafted a TE at 14.....

but you could of argued he didn't see that as a need if it wasn't leaked out since he didn't draft one.

If WR was as huge of a problem as we all think then I think Gettleman would have drafted one.

Hurney was fired b/c of created a clusterfug.  Gettlemen had 5 draft picks.

There are lots of problems he didn't address in the draft.   Impossible for it to of been done....b/c we didn't draft X doesn't mean we are good at X.

#2221497 Pieces in place similar to SB champ Bucs?

Posted by CRA on 03 May 2013 - 09:16 AM

John Lynch - 9 Pro Bowler/2 Time All Pro, HOF semi-finalist in 2013

Rhonde Barber - 5 Time Pro Bowler/3 Time All Pro, will be up for HOF consideration

so yeah, we added Drayton Florence....I see the pieces coming together

#2218665 What did you see to support the claim our secondary improved over the course...

who do you consider a "playmaker" in our secondary?

Come on bro, don't act like you never heard of Florence Island. Don't let 5 different teams in the last 6 years fool you...he is a baller.

#2217559 Anyone catch Smitty this afternoon?

Thought he wanted us to draft Sheldon

lol...he did. He also thought we need more playmakers not long ago.

We got FA receivers that are just as good if not better than any receivers we could have drafted. We are fine at WR and we completely beefed up our defense which I'm extremely excited about.

false.

this is the standard practice of overstating how good someone who is now in a Panther uniform and diminshing those who aren't.

see it every year at this time. "Oh, Tank Tyler, yeah he got dis. Dude will be a beast. No worries, so glad we snagged him instead of wasting a draft pick".

Ginn is a ST player. He is entering his 7th season. He isn't breaking out. He is a bust of a WR.

Detroit will be screwed without Megatron. New Orleans will be screwed without Brees. Atlanta will be hurting without Julio Jones. And on and on. There are players on every team that are critical to their success and Smitty is one of those guys. Doesn't mean you have to find his replacement every year or even could if you tried. We have brought in a ton of players trying to find a number 2 since we found Smitty and few have worked out besides Moose. We will continue to try and find a number 1 to replace Smitty but honestly there were no receivers in this draft who could do that. Maybe I missed it but where was Julio Jones and A J Green in this draft. I didn't see any.

Good teams add steady talent....

You add steady talent you can end up with Mike Wallace's, Steve Smith's, DeSean Jackson's, Greg Jennings'. I'm sure you didn't see any of them either.

and sometimes....AJ Green....is actually Braylon Edwards. Draft is always a gamble. With a young franchise QB....you are suppose to play the game and gamble for some talent.

we aren't as screwed as we once where....b/c Smith isnt the best player anymore.

#2216091 What are you looking for in Cam next year?

Posted by CRA on 28 April 2013 - 04:30 PM

Better decision making and nominal pressing. I would like for him to keep INTs down to single digits.

Aren't most the majority of his "pressing" moments near the end of games when the D doesn't stop opponents and he has no choice but to try something bc punting isn't an option?

#2213994 if you're contemplating committing seppuku over our last two picks go ahe...

Posted by CRA on 27 April 2013 - 04:27 PM

Gettlemagic must have a brain washing agent. Because if u think these two picks make dlo and beason cuttable then u should take your own advice.

Williams being a 31 yr old RB and probably the 3rd or 4th best rusher in 2014.....and Beason being expensive as poo and done diddly poo to date under his contract is what potentially makes both expendable soon.....

We could of draft no LB and RB....and both realistically could be gone soon.

We're not getting rid of Beason unless he gets injured again. Klein is solid but he ain't on Beason's level.

If he looks like the guy we saw last year....we have to cut him. His contract will then go down as the worst in Panther history
