#2861275 Panthers cut LB Billy Boyko

Posted by CRA on Today, 06:26 PM

I'm guessing this move is to bring Florence back. As mentioned, he tweeted that he was in Charlotte yesterday

Meh, a mere smokescreen.

Return Tds are great but the field position he gave us was super underrated. Our special teams was one of the best last year. Hopefully we can continue with that cause every bit helps

Last year was the first season in 46 years we actually invested in having a legit and proven returner.

It paid off

Sadly, we head into this season once again with the "someone" will step up mindset

#2861215 Greg Olsen Tweet....

See now you're getting into an entirely different issue. Has no bearing on what I said, which was that playcalling by Mike Shula needs to improve. We had worse receiving corps the previous 2 years and put up better passing numbers.

NOW I'm not saying that Chud was necessarily leaps and bounds better than Shula overall in the playcalling dept. but I will say that both of their stratagies put together (which many teams - most notably Seattle - do today) would give us what we want. Potent offense that scores points and a great defense.

Also are you Canadian, eh?

Playcalling can't improve without talent.

Our OL can barely run or pass block.....Shula can't turn water into win. Simple and safe is his only option.

Simple and safe is also be designed what you play with great defense.

No one credits Shula's O for helping our D be as great as it was. He deserves it

#2858295 Saints TE Watson 'not worried' about the Panthers

This made me think of this http://youtu.be/4ST0FRL35qs
Dude is stuck in Graham's shadow and is just trying to make news

Watson is one of the brighter guys in the NFL.

Issue here is merely people think he was knocking us when he was simply joking about the history of the NFCS

When I watched the show I got the impression that the comment was made "tongue in cheek" However, putting my rational self aside, He is a NO 'taint so fug him!!!!

Go Panthers!!!

Yes, it was clearly a tongue in cheek comment.

Ben Watson is awesome. Avergae TE but owner of one of the greatest effort plays of all time (dude is a freak). A good dude too.

#2853025 Hardy found guilty

Posted by CRA on 15 July 2014 - 09:43 PM

How do you know he was guilty? Not trying to be confrontational at all. Do you have inside sources, because if Hardy really smacked this woman around then he should have gone to jail. He's too big and strong to ever need to beat up a woman, and the sentence was much too lenient.

Or do mean he was found guilty by a court of law?

He was found guilty today. That makes him guilty.

Domestic violence is a reoccurring issue in the NFL......and no, all the women don't look like a 6 yr old that tangled with The Incredible Hulk. So saying the chicks should look mangled if it "really" happened isn't worth getting into.

Also, the chick being sketchy doesn't mean you can disregard his guilty verdict as bogus

The judge is a feminist lesbian lover. Of course she is going to stick it to Hardy. This case is complete bull poo!

It is what it is.

You make repeated poor decisions and bad things happen. Hardy did this to himself. No point in bashing the judge

Such a shame big picture...

Could of gone down as one of our franchise greats. Absurd talent.

Oh well. All aboard the Star train.

Will be interesting to see what Big Cat does...

One thing we know...2014 is Hardy's last year as a Panther

#2833880 Make or break year for Shula (I hope)

Posted by CRA on 27 June 2014 - 08:18 PM

We went 12-4 last year with Shula....

Despite having a weak OL
Weak WRs
Average RBs

His O isn't sexy....if we actually gave him and Cam an OL.....we wouldn't have much to complain about with his O paired with our D. Shula in 2013 SHOULD get credit for helping us have a top tier D. He doesn't around here however

#2819489 If Double Trouble returns...?

Posted by CRA on 14 June 2014 - 07:00 AM

Exactly those are projection and nothing more ! IMO we break those expectation.

A top 5 O means our D likely blows

If our D is dominant.....we are designed and our goal is ball control which means we don't want top 5 O stats.

#2819122 Ron Rivera on the hot seat? **SMH/LOL**

Posted by CRA on 13 June 2014 - 05:48 PM

Yeah I won't argue that the offense was more efficient in 2012 than in 2013. I suppose it comes down to whether you think a repeat of 2012 or 2011 would have been more likely under Chud. While you're right no teams having tape of Cam was a major factor in 2011, I think a bounce back would have been in order as Cam improved in his 3rd year. Would the offense return to 2011 levels? Probably not. Would it be better than 2012? Probably. That's an assumption, but I don't think its a totally unreasonable one.

Either way, my original point was that IMO Shula should be in the hot seat. As you said, maybe this was a down year for him/the offense. If it wasn't, and this is really the best we can do offensively under him, he shouldn't be brought back. Because, despite all the ball control efficiency etc., if anything goes wrong with the defense, we're going to struggle to win games. Put it this way: if 2013 was the real Shula offense, would you be comfortable with that and a not top 10 defense?

Id be comfortable with the Shula offense with a real OL.

The Shula O last year behind a shakey OL helped the D be dominant. Too many people gloss over Shula's offensive role in helping our D be what they were

#2819102 Brandon Flowers Released

Posted by CRA on 13 June 2014 - 05:18 PM

He's not much bigger than Captain. Don't care to see another guy getting manhandled and laughed at.

Captain was a damn good nickel CB. Not his fault we sucked so bad we asked him to cover #1 WRs on the outside

#2818461 If Double Trouble returns...?

Posted by CRA on 13 June 2014 - 05:49 AM

But he's also not the 2017-2018 guy everyone thinks he is. He still has ample gas left in the tank

He will be a ever so slightly worse version of the 2013 guy.

That is the issue. Better options will exist....he will likely be the 4th best rush threat on the team yet paid like a boss
