#1743477 Who Are The Top 10 Qbs In The Nfl Right Now?

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 24 April 2012 - 02:51 PM

I'm not sure I agree with what you've got there. Just because Eli won the Super Bowl doesn't bump him up above the elite statistical players:

1. Drew Brees (Yes Rodgers had the better QBR, but Brees threw the ball 150 more times and STILL had a better completion percentage. Rodgers would've thrown more picks if he'd thrown 650 passes too. Brees overall had the better season IMO)
2. Aaron Rodgers
3. Tom Brady
4. Eli Manning
5. Ben Roethlisberger
6. Tony Romo
7. Matthew Stafford
8. Philip Rivers
9. Cam Newton
10. Michael Vick

Wanna see how Peyton plays before he gets on the list.

Brees threw the ball 150 more time than Rodgers an had 1 more passing TD. That isn't good. Rodgers still had more overall TDs than Brees in less time on the field

#1742879 Gannt Selects With #9 Pick...

Only offensive pick I could stomach would be a WR at 9

If Otah can play 16 games he would be a pro bowler.

No issue here with it....dude is flat out an all around great football player. He also made more plays BEHIND the line of scrimmage in college than guys like Willis or Beason.

Beason + Luke > Beason plus whoever. In a league where RBs and TEs have morphed into recieving options. LB is important despite what some claim.

LB play was worse than DL play last year. Beason coming back doesn't fix everything

#1739987 I Am Playing Cam Newton In Madden Right Now!

Odd, I was playing some online Call of Duty Moden Warfare III with Cam on my Super Nintendo at that same time you were claiming....

#1736547 Whats Up With All This Cam Slump Garbage?

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 19 April 2012 - 11:57 AM

Article is nonsense.

Cam's best games also werent his first couple. he just had tons of passing yardage. Washington, Houston, etc were good games.....veteran like.

Also, it is clear the ST and D are the reason a rookie Newton didn't post a winning record. What is also clear....is a 2nd year player like The Golden Calf of Bristol is nowhere near the QB Newton is

OMG. Another Luke fan boy. The nerve of Kiper suggesting he might be BPA for Carolina.

That said, Kiper is an idiot.

#1736299 Whats Up With All This Cam Slump Garbage?

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 19 April 2012 - 08:49 AM

Well, a large majority of 2nd year players struggle at QB.....so that isn't really Cam specific. Just playing the odds.

I think the easiest way to avoid that is to add new players and looks on offense. Players look to be the same so Chud needs to really do a good job this year.

A heavy repeat of last years offense will let defenses really key in on picking apart Cams game

#1735451 Of These 4 Draft Prospects Who Is Your Favorite?

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 18 April 2012 - 04:26 PM

By the nature of the position, DE's naturally make more "plays".

Doesn't mean that a DT who can come in, fill a hole, and not be pushed around (even if he isn't making a tackle or getting sacks) isn't as or more valuable. A DT who can come in and do it all is preferable. But a DT who can come in and just STAND HIS GROUND is almost as valuable to the players who play behind him.

Cox is a beast and is strong as an ox. He sure as hell didn't get pushed around on a regular basis in the SEC. I don't see him getting pushed around in the NFL either.

Plenty of DTs get pushed around as rookies. DT has proven to rarely be a spot you can plug rookies into. They need time. Not just 3rd rounders either. We have DTs developing and can bring in a vet when cuts start later on.

Cam needs improved D play. Improved in 2012. No DT worth the 9 pick. Class is deep. If you want to add a DT to the mix do it in round 2 and add a 2012 player at 9

Drew Brees = Baghdad Bob

Ron Rivera literally watched every snap Cam Newton took....

Granted, they aren't picking at the one spot and devote the same type attention to a guy as Cam....but once Rivera watches film on Poe....he would be a 2nd rounder at that point.

#1726976 Breaking Down Steve Smith's Deal

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 12 April 2012 - 09:12 AM

You know, there are some who will say that Smitty's occasional fits of temper disqualify him from consideration as an example of what the best in being a Panther is all about, but I would beg to differ. I think on the whole, he has been the ultimate team player, and I would like to cast my vote early to see him in bronze near Sam Mills when he hangs up his cleats.

Smitty is a GREAT WR.

Hasn't been a great teammate or lockerroom guy overall based on reports. He has punched a reported 3 teammates, in 2008 the team told him they always had to walk on egg shells around, and he was a dick as recently as 2010 to a QB put in a situation to fail making life much harder on the kid.

Smith is one of the most talented WRs I have ever had the pleasure to watch.....but homersim gets out of control. So now I am painted as a Smitty hater bc I wont buy into this illusion he has been an ideal teammate?

Smitty is a great WR, seems like a good guy off the field......but nothing suggests he has been a great teammate overall. But who cares....that aint a requirement for him to be a great Panther. Put painting these false pictures of guys is silly.

#1726078 Breaking Down Steve Smith's Deal

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 11 April 2012 - 02:42 PM

Yes, let's be real... He's easily a top 5 WR in this League, and didn't take top 5 $$... I mean look at the relative no names that just racked up in this offseason alone.

"He's not awesome totally awesome to the rest of the League" ??? Are u fuggin serious!? He's highly regarded in the game as a "nightmare" for any opposing defense.

Be glad that our FO got him to sign this deal, if he had hit the FA wire we would not have been able to even come close to matching his offer. Anybody that thinks otherwise is a fool.

Top 5, top 10, top 15....it changes up year to year. I have no need to debate that. He is a stud. That is all that matters.

And no....Smitty isn't totally awesome to everyone outside of Carolina. We value him more....and will pay him more than most teams.

Don't forget he punched out a reported 3 teammates, has kicked opponents in the head, cussed everyone out.....and when things don't go his way he is just a dick (see his behavior as recently as 2010). We take the bad bc we have experienced the good.....harder for other teams to overlook that stuff

#1724288 New Deal For Steve Smith

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 10 April 2012 - 11:33 AM

I can't believe you ho's are in here complaining about signing Smitty to an extension. I read the headline and thought I'd come here to celebrate with my fellow Panthers fans. Smitty will be a Panther for life. He'll be the first truly great player that the Panthers drafted out of college that spends his entire career here. Bringing down his cap number for this year helps too. Get your heads out of your asses and be happy for once.

No one is complaining Smith got an extension. Everyone wanted that.....some are just delaying over fapping to it until the numbers come out. Could be a good move or a great move.....when the number are out I will fap accordingly

#1724284 New Deal For Steve Smith

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 10 April 2012 - 11:32 AM

Because Steve Smith is hands down the greatest player this franchise has ever had, and even if you overpay for him, it's not like it's going to hurt you forever. He's gonna be done at the end of the contract anyway, so if we pay a million or two more than we should have for a couple years, it keeps our young franchise QB's favorite target around, buys us time to not be forced into reaching to draft a replacement for him, and really only stops us from spending that extra couple of million on some FA that isn't going to end up being worth it anyway.

Yeah, but paying guys for what they have done isn't a great practice.

and if you overpay Smith and large number of players are overpaid on the same roster.....it does clearly hurt the overall team for the immediate future.

Hopefully they did give him a comparable deal to Wayne so that it will be a moot issue
