How many fumbles has Stewart had ?

The same number as the amount of times he falls down like a girl the instant he is touched. 0

No. No. No. We are arguing that the Patriots have had less talent in many seasons and been as much or more successful on offense due to the supreme play of Thomas Brady and his ability to manage the game while developing in to one of the best to ever play the game.

See:

I submitted the 2001 season where Brady had a better OL but worse skill set players. We disagreed with each other. You poopoo'd the rest and claimed you won.

I awaited you to find another season which supported your claim or to actually make an argument.

i'm calling your mom. that's not very nice, you big meanie.

You are logic fail. Because I am a Bills fan I cannot talk football? Because I am a fan of another team means I cannot be here and talk football? How am I trolling?

seriously, i have something like 500 posts, about 300 of them dealing with football and you're calling troll? Yep, way to indict how awesome your moderators and admin are... yeah, doof. Also, the other 200 are in the nonsense part of the board and in the workout thread.

Either way, I am here for the babes.

2001 Patriots had a signicantly better OL. Signicantly better. The supporting cast off that alone was signicantly better for whoever was the Patriot QB. The 2001 Patriots rush attack was light years better than the 2014 Panthers one. Fact.

WRs are a push.

Greg Olen doesn't flip all that upside down.

I'll get to the other years after we get past 2001. If you don't think that 2001 cast was better for a QB than this 2014 than talking the rest is a waste of time.

So you don't think the NE rush attack was much better? You don't consider the WRs as push? Why not

I mean looking ahead the NE OL gets better in 05-06 and it already poos all over the 2014 Car one back 2001.

tell me you love me back.

dance for me monkey, dance.

That is just 2001, and just the OT's. Your UDFA @ LT was pretty darn good at RT.

NE had superior talent to the Panthers on the OL which helped a young Brady not get killed.
.

No, Byron Bell was never a darn good RT. He was awful thete too.

So you admit the 2001 Patriots had superior OL talent? Then we might as well end it and move to another year. Bc that pretty much means the 2001 Patriots didn't have a worse cast around there QB than the 2014 Panthers. Which is why you had a 1100 yard rushing, 12 TD RB. Carolina can't run with their RBs. Cam can only dream of such things

Isn't that what the Panthers have done for a few seasons now? Have a tremendous D?

IIRC they were the best defense in the league.

We have had bad defense in recent years outside of one season. We won that year with good D + Cam. That wasn't the 2001 Patriot model. They had a decent offense around their green QB. Let him hand it off a lot, play off the strong rush attack, etc.

What did you think of the OT breakdown?

2001 Pats vs 2014 Panthers

Okay here we go, we start up front bc that pretty much is the meat and potatoes. We will start outside and work out way in.

NE LT - 2nd round pick (all pro/pro bowl career)
Car LT - undrafted (nothing positive...ever)
NE RT- 4th round pick (meh)
Car RT - undrafted DT (worst OT in Car history)

So at OT, clearly the Patriots had superior talent and that was/is proven in play as well.

You agree or disagree with that? Need to see how rational you are going to be before I do it all

Ok. I evaluated Cam last year and the year before that when he had a decent O-line that allowed him time to pass. He still was average even then. He is a hit and miss QB, what don't you get? Getting a good O-line will obviously help Cam a lot, but he would still be the same passer and QB he is today, just wouldn't be hit as much. He would still stare down receivers, overthrow them, complete about 57-60% of his passes, and he would still fail to read a defense. You people act like Cam would all of a sudden be an elite QB if he got a good O-line and weapons. No doubt it would help, but this is just what Cam is.... an erratic QB who will have very good games, but overall, will always be inconsistent in his pre-snap reads and accuracy.

We had a weak line last year too.

Only season we had a decent OL was his rookie year. He rewrote the record book by the way that season.

I don't get what's funny. Cam has been an average passer all 4 years in his career ranking slap dead in the middle in terms of QB rating, completion %, YPG, YPA, etc. This is just what you are going to get with him... an average QB. So you are telling me that you would pay Cam top 5 QB money even though he is an average passer?

Problem is you don't evalaute Manning and Cam the same way.

Just like you don't evaluate Jerome Bettis and Darren Sproles the same.

Cam isn't average. There may be parts to his game that are. There are also parts that poo all over everyone

You’re absolutely right. As people probably already know, I fully disagree with signing Cam to a mega contract for the reasons you mentioned. You don't invest in a QB that already looks like he is wearing down and still is not a very good passer. It would be stupid. We are in dire need of WAY more positions than an average QB. That's why I say trade Cam for a lot of draft picks (and trust me, teams most definitely will) and start all over and attempt to build a complete team. I know Panther fans love him and think he can be elite with offensive weapons, but I still think he would struggle because he is just not a good QB.

You evaluate QBs as a pocket passer when they have a line that gives a pocket. Cam is forced to play survival.

If Cam was average.....he wouldn't of be used to mask all of our holes and be a one man offense

That he tries to carry the entire team on his back and should know by now that he cannot do that.

He needs to change the calls at the line. When the D is stacking 6 players in the box and showing blitz he needs to call a run and let the RB's get smoked. When the D has 4 guys on the line and 7 guys in pass coverage he needs to call a run.

Newton is a good QB. It's time that he starts playing like one, though. He needs to manage the game better.

He doesn't have a choice. Other choice would be instead of having a 12-4 seaosn last year he doesn't carry more and we go 7-9 that year.

Cam will do what he has to do. If he does less we are worse.

He needs talent around him. Put Tom Brady on this team and he would look average. No OL, no rush game and WRs that can't get open.....audibles don't fix that

#3085653 Panthers Rushing Defense

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 13 November 2014 - 03:16 PM

Last 6 weeks it has been decent. Only really had the one run from Cincy in that time frame.

I always thought run D was the one correctable issue bc it was stud players being uncharacteristicly bad on the huge runs.

His, because he won't throw it away.

Did you read what you responded to?

What does throwing it away have to do with him having a joke of rush attack....that he can't play off of?

#3084250 What coaches do you want retained?

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 12 November 2014 - 02:36 PM

You don't retain old postion coaches.

New coach brings in his staff.

Unless we want to make the job completely undesirable. A good HC walks into the interview and Dave says we will hire you but these will have to be your coaches....a good HC candidate would just walk away

#3083935 Panthers officials insist Cam Newton's MNF problems totally mental

Excuse me ?

You do know Keek is leading the league in tackles ?

I made it easy for you sloth just click here and see why Keek is "nothing special" this year.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/stats

Luke hasn't been as good this year. Can't argue that.

Having more tackles doesn't = better

He made a lot of errors early on this year. Some costly ones. A lot of those early HUGE runs were on Luke and TD not being disciplined

#3083860 Norwell only lineman with a positive grade from PFF

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 12 November 2014 - 11:50 AM

This is the worst-performing OL I remember seeing in a long time, Carolina or otherwise. I remember the line being pretty terrible in 2010 as well, but I think that was almost more scheme related rather than having terrible players.

OL wasn't that bad in 2010. Clausen would just flee the pocket. Notre Dame OL got irritated BC of the bad rep some gave them bc of his habits. Did a scent job run blocking too given the fact opponents stacked the box all day
