#1999029 bwood & swarly... come eat some crow

Posted by Swarly on 14 November 2012 - 01:22 AM

Sorry, haven't posted on this forum in a while.

I don't remember really talking trash about them though... I always gave them props for having a great staff, but I thought the Nationals had a better staff as a whole, which at the time they did.. and you could argue they finished with a better staff. Postseason baseball is such a crapshoot.

.Giants were the better team, and the more experienced team. You are crazy if you think WAS pitching staff isn't right up there with the Giants though. You really think Stras/Gio/Zimmermann/Detwiler isn't an elite rotation? Stras will be the best pitcher in the MLB next year book it.

I've got nothing but respect for the Giants org. and I think they're the best run one in baseball from top to bottom. I stand by what I said about the Nationals having a better staff, just a less experienced staff that lost their best guy for the postseason.

I really wish the Nats/Giants could've played eachother in the NLCS. I think the Giants would have come out on top but it would have been a great series between IMO the best two teams in baseball.

Right now that would probably be the Nationals.

This. Probably isn't the right word though, it's definitely.

Strasburg and Gio are both legitimate aces. Jordan Zimmermann is a really good #2 even though he's in the 3 spot. Edwin Jackson is pitching very well right now, although I see him finishing the season with a 3.5-4 ERA, but as of now he's pitching great. #5 spot is inconsistent with Wang and Detwiler but for a #5 they are reasonably decent.

They also drafted the highest ceiling pitcher in the draft this year so the future of this staff is even better.

#1740520 2012 Dodgers Thread

Matt Kemp is seriously unreal. I can't wrap my head around just how dominant he has been so far. Having a Bonds type year. Yeah yeah yeah, it's still early and he will definitely regress, but still.

Damn shame the Nats game got postponed today(I'm a Nats fan not Dodgers), as it pushes Strasburg's start back a day. Now it will be Detwiler vs. Kershaw on Friday :( Stras and Kershaw will be competing for the CY Young every year for the next several years. Count it.

MLB's current best lefty vs. future best righty would have been a helluva battle.

Every year there is a combine warrior that shoots up the draft boards. First round athlete, 2nd-3rd round football player. If we take him I'll be extremely disappointed.

Then again, I said the exact same thing about Cammy Cam. So lulz. Luckily, Hurney is literally perfect in the first round so I trust him to make the best pick.

#1708228 Cap Not Expected To Raise More Then 2 Million From 2012 - 2015 Seasons.

If they aren't going to raise the cap very much, then they need to try and keep the contracts from getting so damn big.

This.

We don't have anything else to post cause it's not the regular season.

It's so much more fun to play that guy, the typical debbie downer that everyone knows. I mean shiit, why should we celebrate our rookie quarterback, face of the franchise, guy we'll be building the team around for the next decade winning a prestigious award?

fug guys quit being happy

Posted by Swarly on 21 January 2012 - 03:54 PM

the better team didn't lose. if the team was better, they would have won

49ers lead the league in turnover differential, they've won games like that all year. you're just salty your team is still winless on the road in the postseason so you spit out the dumbest fuging thing imaginable herp derp the better team lost!

#1611214 Just Kobe being Kobe

Posted by Swarly on 12 January 2012 - 03:45 PM

Guys LBJ is still a top player in the NBA, if not, the best.

I personally like Durant the best, but you could argue LBJ.

LBJ is physically a beast, almost unguardable, can rebound, is a great passer, and can play D. The problem with LBJ is his mentality. He doesn't have the mentality to even be in the talks as the GOAT. All this came into light several years ago in the playoffs vs Boston. He will never touch Magic, never touch Kobe, and certainly not MJ. Having said that he has to be considered up there for the best player now.

Kobe is having a great year this year which is a bit surprising as he is aging and he is injured.

What separates the great from the legendary is the mental toughness. LeBrick James has NONE OF IT. He has no clutch gene, he has no killer instincts, he is a mental midget and a complete coward when the game is on the line.

Kobe WANTS the ball in intense game-on-the-line situations. LeBrick looks for batman to bail him out.

Durant has shown this quality too, the rare clutch gene. Among many other players, such as Rose. LeBrick is certainly the most physically talented player in the NBA, you won't hear me argue that.. but he is near the bottom of the list of players I'd want to take that last shot.
