#3019120 Trent Dilfer audio for those who wanted to here it.

Pretty much the traditionalist have never seen anything like cam. It scares them to think a different kind of way. The way the game has been played for years has a set pattern on what can win and what should win. Cam is like no other qb to ever come along so it is natural for him to get scared. Hey until a few years ago there was no where near as many african american qbs and now look at the league. Just give it some time the position is always evolving.

#3018738 If the playoffs started today

Well they don't. So speculate on something else. Season isn't even half over with.

Did you really take the time out of your life to come in here and write that. Speculation would be something untrue or a guess. This would be a fact. Also If you didnt want to read there are other links....

#3017629 Is it time Bersin replaces Avant?

Posted by micnificent28 on 12 October 2014 - 08:39 PM

Not a overreaction or home town bias. Just judging from the play of the two,I think Bersin's play deserves more timing time. All he has done is produce when called apon. Judging from the two's natural ability I don't think avant offer's much more than Bersin and Avant has shown suspect hand's at times. Yes he caught a TD early in the season but had atleast two ugly drops today. I say let the young blood in there and see what he does with more chances to make plays.

#2952413 Benjamin's One Handed Grab...

Let's not forget the catch he made in the end zone, that was led a little too far for him to get his second foot down.

He is a rookie, he will make mistakes. He reminds me of a taller/bigger Jerry Rice. Their strengths and style of play are very similar.

Jerry rice... really that what you came up with?

Thoughts on his performance today? He had a couple of nice returns, make good decisions for fair catches and no-catches. Most Importantly, no muffed punts. I think he might be a long-term keeper if he keeps it up.

Well somebody is optimistic off off one return.

#2922579 Stephen Hill signs to Panthers Practice Squad

Really? REALLY?! GTFO with that bullshit.

Lets forget the wars and butt rape by China he inherited. Not to mention a majority republican house who refused to work with him. Not to mention the auto industry and pretty much the whole housing and economic crisis damn near new great depression. No if you ignore all that he was in a great position.

so you contend we would have won 12 games last year with chuds college read option bullshit? 😕

Chud's bullshit read option offense opened the doors for the kapernicks and rgIII's of the world. It sent the NFL looking to implement the option offense. Not to mention we had a top 10 offense under chud. Amazing with him gone were a bottom dwelling offense. But blaming losing seasons on a high scoring offense while the defense is allowing 25 points a game is not the offenses fault.

It's about pure athleticism.  Nothing about football.  It's all about confirming what you've seen on tape or spurring you to go back to watch tape to see if you've missed something.

If a guy performs well at the combine and the tape looks good, you've got a bonafide prospect.  If a guy looks good on tape but sucks at the combine, you need to go back and figure out if he's a guy who is going to translate to the NFL level.  If a guy doesn't look special on tape, but performs like a track star at the combine, you need to go back and look at the tape to see if there's a way you can utilize that guy's athleticism in your system.

THAT is the point of the combine.  Too many people get obsessed with the numbers one way or the other.  Some act like it doesn't matter at all, some act like it's the end all be all. Neither are accurate.  It's just a piece of the evaluation.  BUT, when we're talking about pure athleticism, it's about as close to the end all be all that we're gonna get.

THAT is why I say that Josh Norman is a below average athlete for an NFL CB. It has nothing to do with his skills or lack of skills on the field.  It's all to do with what he showed at the combine in the same condition as other prospects at his position.  Athletically, he's nothing special.

I m the biggest combine nut here, but I think we put a little to much faith in combine numbers. I saw dat thomas over his career and he looked like the fastest guy on the field in any game he was in. Come to the combine and he looked like he didn't have game breaking NFL speed so i soured on him. Well Come time to suit up and he looks like the fastest guy on the field again... I can't explain it other than game speed trumps clocked times.
