#2790566 Is it me or does training camp/preseaon have a lot more dark horse/underdog t...

Posted by micnificent28 on 16 May 2014 - 11:05 PM

This might be one of the most interesting camps i can recall. Everyone knows the big name talent we have and early round picks, but i look forward to seeing The return of gaydosh the Canadian farm beast. Not to mention alex hall another Canadian prospect whom i look forward to seeing push for a spot. I see craig roh is back who played pretty well when i saw him.As many of you know am excited to see Noel devine in  any role for the team if only for the preseason, but with that said there are also people like dorian dickerson former combine standout who couldn't find a role in the league thus far. I have heard good things about darring reaves and  the rookie and philly brown has a shot at making some noise. Not to mention seeing what mcnutt and king can do with more time on the field. Harvey Unga was a decent prospect coming out of college and could suprise at fb. And how could i forget year two of the old "swole bones project".Shawn powell has a nfl leg at punter but i dout he takes the job.

I don't think there has been a more interesting group of cast aways and unproven talent that we have brought in years. Here is to an exciting camp and hopefully good preseason football!

I think kfc's seasoning are superior to bojangles. But bojangles has bo rounds.

Not a lot being said about this kid. I think he has tayvon austin like ability all though I can see issues with him making the due to injuries. He could easily see time on the field on special teams. I like the idea of bring him into camp.

#2783493 First Draft: kelvin Benjamin

Love this kid. Seems like he has his head on the right way humble and soft spoken. The more i watch the more I see freakish potential. Despite what the talking heads say Love the pick.

#2781860 There's no way we're carrying 5 RB's on the 53

Posted by micnificent28 on 12 May 2014 - 01:56 AM

Williams is overpaid, wrong side of the 30.
Stewart is overpaid, wrong side of the 30.

Barner and Gaffney are the future with the same production. Both were outstanding in college, two different types of backs.

It seems stupid now to have geffney, but isn't it frustrating to have so kind much money tied up in RBs? Well my friends, here are your cheap, effective replacements.

Come on man. you don't seriously think backup caliber late round picks=first round like talents do you? Every pick the team drafts aren't franchise saviors.

#2780211 Grade Our 2014 Draft

Posted by micnificent28 on 11 May 2014 - 01:05 AM

Carolina Panthers: Their draft was puzzling to me. Why not a left tackle? Is Byron Bell the answer? Kelvin Benjamin is a big receiver, but I liked others more. Why draft a defensive end with so many other needs? Grade: D

i give it an A- minimum.

you whiny ***** need to realize we just got a future superstar at WR that we've been griping about cam not having for three years, we grabbed a potential superstar at DE that lets us get out of CJ's contract next year so we can fuging sign cam back to begin with, we grabbed a guard that's a day-one starter and gives us desperately-needed push from the interior and can actually pick up assignments so the tackles don't look like down's kids, we got a corner who can replace captain munnerlyn and not get burnt by anybody tall enough to ride the snoopy land rides at carowinds, and we nailed a value pick at running back that gives us leverage against the two giant double trouble albatrosses round our necks. literally the only questionable pick was boston at safety, and even then we lost mitchell and have no clue how any of the FAs we signed will actually pan out, so i take that back, it was a great pick.

we are one tackle away from being better than the 2013 team that led us to 12-4 and not capfuged and perpetual paraplegics in free agency. plug your drippy cooters and stfu and enjoy the ride, it's going to be awesome

I don't believe even you believe all the bs you just spewed. and i love kb by the way.

As a fsu fan he already has a nickname. Optimus Prime.

Physical specimen

I believe my uncle, a longtime high school basketball coach in Mississippi, was the first person I ever heard utter the phrase "you can't coach height." What he meant was that no matter how well he prepared his players, they would likely still have a hard time against a team that was taller.

There is a lot of truth in that statement.

Just a good read for those ready to jump from the ledge.

2014 Blue Chips

Greg Robinson, LT, Auburn - Robinson has long arms, quick feet a massive frame and is as dominant a run blocker as I have seen come out of college thanks to his ridiculous leverage. He is raw in pass protection, but his flaws in technique are coachable and are not physical. He’s the best lineman (and maybe player) in this draft.

Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M - Matthews doesn’t have blue chip size, but we he has is blue chip movement skills and technique that is rare to find heading into a draft. Matthews is a plug and play tackle who has been coached up by his father (Hall of Fame lineman Bruce Matthews) and I can’t find major flaws in his game. While Matthews is polished,, his ceiling isn’t nearly as high as Robinson’s, but he’s a very safe pick.
