#3328430 Quotes from Panthers as Phase One of the offseason begins

Thought this thread was about quotes from the first day of camp.

Ran into a whiney bitc fest.

#3327495 Panthers offseason workouts begin today

I wouldn't expect much 'real news' to come out of these, but hey, it's something to see.

Here is an interesting write up over on the Bills board about Crowder:

I have actually heard speculation that Tillman may get moved to Safety.

#3326676 O-Line prospect breakdown (by Fran Duffy)

Honestly, not a fan of those breakdowns at all. They put a positive spin on virtually everyone.

Well, they are evaluating prospective 1st round talent.  I hope they wouldn't be so positive looking at individuals projected to fall late.

#3326602 Calculating Our Draft Needs

Posted by Leeroy Jenkins PhD on 19 April 2015 - 11:35 AM

So I spent a couple minutes this morning calculating our current draft needs based off a grading system that combines PFT rankings and other player grading systems.

A few assumptions had to be met in order to do this:

First I assumed that Cam would be extended and Luke would receive his 5th year option.

I also had to make the assumption that the players skill levels are not going to change over the course of time.

Finally, it assumes that players are going to live out their current contracts.

I also only calculated potential position starts (top scores available

The numbers are skewed due to the fact that in 2016 we will not have a FB under contract and we will only have 2 CBs under contract.

So, our current position needs are as follows:

Offensive Tackle (82.65)

Free Safety (72.9)

Corner Back (57.36)

Wide Receiver (51.18)

Running Back (49.51)

Strong Safety (46.23)

Full Back (42.6)

Guard (32.5)

Outside Linebacker (25.6)

Tight End (17)

Defensive End (15)

Defensive Tackle (15)

Center (12)

Quarterback (11)

Middle Linebacker (4)

It turned out, I think, like most of us would have predicted. If we cut Charles Johnson next year, which is likely given the cap savings, DE need jumps to 44.83.

#3324522 Three 5th Round Picks

Posted by Leeroy Jenkins PhD on 17 April 2015 - 09:02 AM

Looking at our roster, it seems impossible to make room for 9 rookies.  I would not be opposed to trading multiple picks to move up if someone we like is in danger of being selected.

So what happened the last time the Panthers played the Falcons?  34-3 Panthers

What happened the last time the Panthers played the Saints?  41-10 Panthers

This article is BS

#3316072 Panthers talk to Greg Jennings

Posted by Leeroy Jenkins PhD on 08 April 2015 - 07:17 PM

Didn't you forget someone?

That's OK, you won't be forgetting him when he is our 3 or 4.

Your right I forgot Boykin!!!

#3315878 Panthers talk to Greg Jennings

Posted by Leeroy Jenkins PhD on 08 April 2015 - 04:05 PM

Honestly, Jennings > Cotchery. He does upgrade our roster.

If we had Jennings, does Cotchery even make the roster?

(1)Kelvin Benjamin
(2)Greg Jennings
(3)Ted Ginn Jr
(4)Philly Brown
(5)Draft Pick

Who gets the last receiver spot:
Jerricho Cotchery
Brenton Berson
Stephen Hill
Marcus Lucas
De'Andre Presley
Mike Brown
Jerrett Boykin

*forgot Boykin
