#3084811 Breaking down that 4th & 1 play..

Posted by nosuchthingasapanther on 12 November 2014 - 09:46 PM

Stew was open but he was still ~6-7 yards away from the marker, and the linebacker planted immediately towards stew when he leaked..

Olsen was not open for a touchdown, not even close.

Avant was the best option but even then he still had to gain ~2 yards when the LB on the short side was planting and headed for him as well. Cam probaby passed over him when he noticed that linebacker was headed strait towards him.

i'm not sure what your definition of open is. a linebacker is always going to be going in the direction of a possible target of the qb.

the odds of stewart getting tackled one on one in the open field is slim to none.

avant has the first down. period.

because this is a still shot, what you don't see as the play progresses is olsen being left one on one with a step on his man going into the end zone with no one to his left...newton didn't even have to throw it directly to him to score. olsen had plenty of room to adjust to the ball.

tweet from zod immediately after the play...

if newton gets pulled right now and anderson looks better...would it would be considered a garbage time performance?

#3078578 O-line not addressed in the offseason

Posted by nosuchthingasapanther on 10 November 2014 - 10:21 PM

in all seriousness, who were they going to sign?

who were they going to draft? it looks like all of the linemen that would have available for the panthers to pick are hot garbage.

#3078510 Cam Newton needs to holdout

when money is on the line, you choose the best rate of return...not drop it into a bag with a hole in it.

it's stupid to want the team to lose just so somebody can lose their job.

#3061181 Do my eyes lie to me, or did Norman have another decent game?

Posted by nosuchthingasapanther on 31 October 2014 - 01:35 PM

norman is easily the #1 corner on the roster, and it isn't even close.

Rivera said Olsen helping out on blocking along o line has hurt him getting into routes.

Rivera said team has lost its identity as far as running. Says have to get back to that and getting ball to TE Olsen. #Panthers

#3060854 I'd like someone to explain this 3rd and 9 to me

Posted by nosuchthingasapanther on 31 October 2014 - 11:27 AM

can't blame shula on this one. two receivers in the same area usually means someone is running the wrong route.

#3060643 There's no sense in worrying about anything else until the OL is fixed.

Posted by nosuchthingasapanther on 31 October 2014 - 10:22 AM

I remember last season philly fans were complaining about the oline when Vick was playing. He gets hurt and Foles comes in. Suddenly the oline becomes one of the best in the league.

foles made faster/better decisions than vick. that alone takes A LOT of pressure off the o-line.
