Excellent choice. Now just strike the drum in the rhythm of a Time Lord's heartbeat and we got it made.

#3167989 How should I gamble on the game tomorrow?

Hate to say it but bet on the Cowboys. Stay away from the other games this weekend including ours.

#3167674 Is This The Most Excited You've Ever Been for a Playoff Game?

Posted by GRWatcher on 01 January 2015 - 06:57 PM

I clearly remember the 1996 playoff game against Dallas at home. That will always be my favorite home playoff game. That year the Cowboys were either America's team or a totally dirty team depending on which side of the fence you were on. And we beat them. After beating the other "dynasty" team in San Francisco to get there. We were a new young football family (organization+players+fans) and it was truly an unbelievable feeling.

But I get excited for every playoff game, scale 1-10 I'm at 11. I'll be off the charts by Saturday.

#3165082 Superior game plan by Ron & Co. led to ATL win

Even Simms said that Shula's game plan was brilliant and that it does help to have starters healthy. I know there are many here that do not appreciate Shula. I do, no apologies. I think Newton would be further along in his development if Rivera had started with Shula and not Chud. Chud wanted the players to fit into his scheme. Shula schemes for the players he has. Just as an example, take a look at the TE play between the two. When Chud bothered with the TE it was at the end of games, like Greg was a secret weapon not to be used until needed (and often too late to make a difference). Shula will use the TE's to set the tone from the beginning. No coincidence that Greg is over 1000 yds this year. Or that you see many more 3 TE sets this year.

And, boy, don't get me going on McDermott. Love his coaching.

If they retain enough of the guys who know this scheme it is very likely. That way they won't be starting a bunch of guys with no real NFL experience like they did this year. Or guys who had never played in this scheme before. Hopefully we don t let great players go and replace them with backups as starters so when injuries hit your backups and projects end up having a trial by fire as they go from practice squad to starter in less than a week. If we want a consistent team we need a consistent roster with the yearly upgrades through the draft and free agency.

I was thinking that the Panthers are on the cusp of owning the NFCS for years. All 7 rookies we started will not be poached by other teams because they will not be FA's. Neither will Cam or Greg or Ryan. Dickson might as maybe Remmers too. RB's on contract. Think Harper signed a 2 year contract. Davis, Kuechly, Galant staying, maybe Klein & Blackburn too. Star & Short will be here, Edwards may retire. CJ will be here too, not sure about the rest of the DT's but Gettleman tends to prefer 2 year contracts where he can. Maybe cutting Hardy :( will mean signing more of our DT's if they need to be. But I know Gettleman will not overpay for anyone to stay.

I'm liking Gettleman more & more.

#3164980 Cardinals held Players Only Meeting Yesterday

The Panther players decided to hold our players only meeting last Sunday .... In Atlanta, in their stadium .... Kicking their ass up and down the field. I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

And want to do it again at home!

KEEP POUNDING

#3163354 Looking at Arizona

Posted by GRWatcher on 29 December 2014 - 11:26 PM

I don't know if this has been posted so I'll just put it here. An interview with Coach Arians.

Benjamin is another big, young wideout who will go up and eat it off your head if you let him.

.........

"They got probably the best middle linebacker in the game (Luke Kuechly). He's as good as it gets. The back end, now that they put all those young kids in there, they are playing extremely fast. They have a tremendous blitz package. (Defensive coordinator) Sean McDermott does a good job with his blitz package. He studied under one of the best ever in Jim Johnson from Philadelphia. It's a unique blitz package, so if you're not ready for it, it can really embarrass you."
