#2823443 Ex-Panther's career Not so Good, son!

Posted by CheeseCP on 18 June 2014 - 01:23 PM

I wish he could have a dinner conversation with himself in 10 years and see how that would go.

I am pretty sure his future self would choke him out at Ruby Tuesdays.

Odds are if his future self is having a talk with himself at Ruby Tuesdays in 10 years then it'll be while he's bussing a table!

It's a shame to waste your God given talent. The fact that he made more than most will make in a lifetime and never took it seriously just annoys me. Commit yourself to what you're doing; there will be plenty of time for goofing off when you retire at 35!

#2823344 Carolina Panthers Give LT Nate Chandler a 4 Year Extension

It will be interesting to learn what the terms are. If they locked him up on a cheap contract then you have to wonder how Chandler feels about his progression. If I felt like I was on the verge of breaking out as a starting caliber LT then I would probably play out my contract year and go for the big bucks.

#2822698 Appears that B.Bell may be watching from bench if things don't improve

it's a shame that we are going to have to wait until spartanburg to see who wins out. that, in my book, is a fail.

we should be going into TC knowing who the starting OL is so they can be getting their reps and hit the ground running as a unit.

TC needs to be all about the OL gelling, not try outs to see who is going to be on it.

It would obviously be great if they could spend all of TC working as a unit but it's not uncommon to have position battles going on that late in the preseason.  Besides, odds are most, if not all, of the eventual starting unit are already taking the majority of the snaps together.  It's more of a question of which side Bell/Chandler will be playing on.

They aren't even in Spartanburg yet.  It's way too early to start guessing the depth chart based on reps.

#2822510 Who is the missing piece?

Posted by CheeseCP on 17 June 2014 - 04:00 PM

Good question.

We would line Cam up as a utility player. No matter where he lined up he might be playing any position.

If he lined up at LT he would be allowed to catch a pass.

He could line up as Punter on 2nd down and make a first down.

If we were facing 4th and 1 he could line up as free safety for the other team. And score.

Think about this.

#2822459 Who is the missing piece?

I'm a long time lurker that usually surfaces after the draft because I always get pumped about the future of the team.  Thanks to everyone that contributes to the board.  If there's news about the Panthers then you're probably going to find it here first.  I always enjoy reading everyone's opinions and even get a chuckle or two when threads get completely derailed (most do... probably this one, too!).

Someone commented in the thread about Andre Johnson that "we would win the Superbowl" if that trade happened.  It got me thinking, is there any one player in the league that you think would make us the overwhelming favorite to win the Superbowl if they were on our team?  If yes, who and why?

I'll post what I think after I've had a chance to poach everyone else's ideas!
