#3323942 NFL.com: top 5 rookie QB seasons...guess who's missing?

Posted by Pox 08 on 16 April 2015 - 07:25 PM

A rookie qb putting up over 4,700 total yards and 35 total TD........is a feat that probably won't be achieved again by a rookie qb.

This upcoming year....?

I believe it will be

Brees.........  he is going to be a HOFer,  but right now,  we've no idea if the interior of his Oline is going to be much better.   They got rid of one of the best TEs of the last decade. ..They got rid of Stills.       He's going to have up-in-age Colston,  Cooks (I like the kid,  but he only has a handful of games under his belt,  before the injury got him last year).   I believe this will be the year Brees sort of fades out.    He will still be a good qb,  but he won't be considered by most as an "elite" qb.

I can;'t wait for 89 to sign a 1 day deal,  so he can officially retire a Panther.       I'm tired of being indifferent toward him  or not liking him because he is on another team.

I've grown to not care about most of the things players do or don't do off the field.

It's not my place to judge anyone.

#3287595 Average Gain from Big FA Spending Sprees? 0 Wins

Posted by Pox 08 on 17 March 2015 - 08:36 AM

I read it.

Was Ed Reed considered a top FA in any area?  Wasn't he broken and used up by the time the Texans picked him up,  also coming off of a big injury (I'm not googling it yet,  just off the top of my head)

Smart teams are smart teams.   Sometimes they pick up highly targeted FAs not for a possible increase in reg season wins,  since it's already assumed they will win enough to get into the postseason,    they pick up highly targeted FAs so they can possibly get further in the playoffs than they did the previous years.

Teams like the Bucs believe they can just throw a bunch of money at free agents and they will somehow win games.   The fact that,  the Bucs are on their third HC since even Cam was drafted...should tell everyone what they need to know about them.     They rarely pick the right players for them...whether the FAs are bottom tier or top tier.        Mix that with their inability to draft like G-man.....and you have one of the worst teams in the NFL over the last few years.         Same thing with the Raiders.

#3279532 John Clayton- Redskins will draft Mariota if he's there at 5

Posted by Pox 08 on 12 March 2015 - 11:53 AM

So that would mean the Skins have spent a 1st round pick on a qb,  four years in a row?

#3278061 Bucs biig spenders in FA for 2014.....release M.johnson...

Posted by Pox 08 on 11 March 2015 - 05:06 PM

Signing Stevie Johnson or Denarius Moore = going for broke?

According to some.      Those guys are big money FAs...and if we dared show interest in them...... we're on the same path as the Bucs........who,  btw,  sucked even before they spent a ton of money in FA.   They sucked when they clinched their wallet close in FA,  and they sucked when they opened their wallet to splurge.

#3277067 2012-14 free agency big name signings from 'top teams'

Posted by Pox 08 on 11 March 2015 - 11:31 AM

To be fair......  teams like the Bucs sucked even before they started spending a ton of money in FA.     The Bucs sucked back when they spent the least amount of cap space of any team in the league.

This wouldn't even classify as dollar store shopping.   This is thrift store shopping.
