#2736037 Steve Wyche comments on NFLN this AM reg Dwill

Posted by Pox 08 on 11 April 2014 - 09:10 AM

I think DeAngelo will lead the ill will in the locker room this season.         Move some money around,  squeeze some more juice from a rock and find a couple other players to restructure.....and cut Dwill.

I love Dwill,  but fug him.  Openingly not really giving the new guys a chance...h3ll bent on bitching about 89, LaFell, Ginn and Hixon leaving.

#2734354 Report: Colin Kaepernick investigated for alleged sexual assault

Posted by Pox 08 on 10 April 2014 - 11:48 AM

If the 49ers would just pay him his damn $18M a year,  he can afford the high class hookers and not have to run out on them after the deed ,  without paying.

Hopefully there is nothing to it.  If the story has legs though,  he needs to be punished and the girl taken care of.

#2734298 D-Will in shock over loss of receiving corp

Posted by Pox 08 on 10 April 2014 - 11:22 AM

So to fix our bad receiving corps, we make it worse? Fantastic strategy! Maybe we should fix our offensive line by making it worse too!

How is getting rid of a unit that we know to be horrible,  and going with unknown WRs,  that haven't played together yet............  "making it worse"?           Sometimes the unknown is a better risk than going with the known,  especially if the known,  as a whole,  is horrible.    We haven't even drafted anyone yet.

Has the season already happened and our current group and the guys we drafted,  "proved" to be worse than what we fielded last season?

#2734262 D-Will in shock over loss of receiving corp

Posted by Pox 08 on 10 April 2014 - 11:04 AM

Why? It's just business. D-Wil wants to win, and it's hard to win when Jericho Cotchery is your number one receiver.

We had one of the worst receiving corps in the league last year.  LaFell was given several years to improve..   Hixon had,  what?  Like 10 catches last year?  Ginn was mainly a one trick pony that, while exceeding our expectations,  our expectations weren't that high for him to begin with.

Cotchery as our #1 WR,  which isn't proven to be the case yet,  would make as much sense as our beloved #89 as a #1 WR last year.

We still have the draft.   This years draft is deep when it comes to WRs.

I'm sorry,  but keeping a WR corp that we knew to be one of the worst in the NFL,  as a whole,  wouldn't exactly be the recipe for "winning",  since every team in our division has improved their secondary,  and our WR corp struggled last year,  to get open on a regular basis.

#2723905 Has Hardy Signed Long-Term with Carolina?

Posted by Pox 08 on 01 April 2014 - 05:39 PM

I can see Hardy not signing any long term contract.   Letting this $13M tag play its course and then testing FA next off-season,  hearing some huge offers and then taking them back to the Panthers so they can try to either meet those offers or get extremely close to them.

This will be like another contract year for him,  in '14.

#2720330 I sense a lot of doubt

Could be worse..

Hurney would've probably given Ginn and LaFell a couple of blockbuster contracts.

#2719841 Desean Jackson released *update* Rivera interested *UPDATE X2* Rivera interes...

Person apparently has a really weird inside connection.  He only knows who we're not interested in and they won't tell him jack on who we are interested in.

#2709243 Panthers interested in DeSean Jackson for the right price...

Armanti Edwards, Corvey Irvin and Atiyyah Ellison were third round selections also.

#2699846 just one thing...

Cam is entering chapter 2 of his storied NFL career.             A chapter where he gets to grow with a new ,  young, WR corp....as both the corp and Cam evolve into something even more special than what Cam already is.

#2698587 Roman Harper Signs with the Panthers

Posted by Pox 08 on 15 March 2014 - 04:42 PM

Mark my words.   Behind our front 7...........Harper is going to look dang good.   Guy will,  quite possibly look better than he  ever has at any point in his career.

#2698459 Roman Harper Signs with the Panthers

Gettleman should make all his moves while keeping in mind that he is not allowed to sign upgrades for the team if they ever had beef with 89...         89 ,  of course being a WR,  that is no longer on the team,  but should still affect everything the team does as the team moves forward.

#2695522 Nicks visiting the Colts tonight

Posted by Pox 08 on 14 March 2014 - 06:15 PM

89  is not coming back guys.   89 is gone.   I get the feeling that those that are overly excited that Nicks didn't come to Carolina,  are also the ones extremely emotional about 89 being cut.

#2692849 Mike Florio- Panthers not interested in Nicks

Posted by Pox 08 on 13 March 2014 - 07:04 PM

Nicks will be a Colt tomorrow.

I'm not overly cynical but it does suck to be one of the only teams in a decade  to not actively build around their franchise qb.

#2691262 All this Gettleman hate....

Posted by Pox 08 on 13 March 2014 - 01:12 PM

Didn't we once pay Peppers $16M to hold him here for one more year,  dispite the fact that it was clear that he wanted nothing to do with us?

So,  we've definitely seen worse.

My hate is where it belongs,  at Hurney.            Remember the big extension he gave Delhomme after Delhomme's meltdown?

#2690696 Panthers bring safety Roman Harper in for a visit

Posted by Pox 08 on 13 March 2014 - 11:37 AM

I do wonder how might Harper look if he had one of the best front 7s in front of him?
