Can buying help

11 February 2015 - 07:00 PM

I'm a bad negotiator and I couldn't get through to Dave Gettleman, so I turn to you guys. My credit sucks so I'm looking for something used for my expanding family and it must be cheap and affordable.

I'm only interested in the Sienna or Odyssey and I found this, it's in great shape and I can finance it and get the payments where I need them, but they got the approval done at list price.

Should I really just be happy I got approved and not negotiate? If I were to try to get a better price what would you guys recommend as a starting point and a bottom line?

Thanks!

Having another baby - prayers appreciated

31 January 2015 - 08:02 PM

So...oops.

After the first pregnancy scared the crap out of us, saw the wife hospitalized multiple times and resulted in a c-section at week 30 we knew there would be risks should she become pregnant again.

Welp, she's pregnant again. I'm excited as I always wanted two kids and my son desperately needs a sibling, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit to being worried about the wife's health and obviously that of the baby.

She's 8 weeks along right now; at this point in the first pregnancy she already had a subchorionic (sp?) bleed. If this week's upcoming ultra comes up clean I'll take that as a tremendous step in the right direction. That's one prayer request.

We have a much larger support system in place now, which is and has already been a huge blessing.

So, here I am happy as hell and scared shitless at the same time. So, I'm asking for prayers for a far less eventful pregnancy and that everyone comes out healthy at the end..hopefully 7 months from now.

Thanks in advance.

Time to add another one to the win column in ACC play.

Football Outsiders Defense Stats Confirm LB Awesomeness

22 January 2015 - 08:14 AM

Voth linked to this article this morning and I found it interesting but not surprising.

Some of Luke's detractors like to clamor that he doesn't make plays behind the LOS and he just gets his numbers once the play has been made. We, those who know what a football is, know better and here is some statistical evidence that supports what we already knew.

What is a defeat?

The last few years, we've written a lot about a stat called Defeats that we use to count big plays made by defensive players. Defeats add up the following types of plays:
a) All tackles for a loss, including sacks;
B) Any tackle or pass defensed to prevent a conversion on third or fourth down;
c) Any turnover or a batted pass that leads to an interception.

So, they're as badass as we thought.

Suck it haters.

Kelvin Benjamin gets it

“I feel like I had a bad season. I have to do a better job staying healthy throughout the season. I think I slowed down. I have to do a better job, take care of my body. I had a lot of drops. I think I’m going to do a better job, just taking care of my body and staying focused.”

Glad to see he recognizes the need to keep working. He knows he missed some opportunities and wants to improve.

After breaking the franchise rookie receiving records and being in the OROY conversation it would be easy for him to rest of his laurels just cruise through the offseason. He makes it pretty clear here that he's going to continue to hone his skills and perfect his craft.

Hopefully he and Cam will spend some time together and further develop their chemistry.

I was immediately relieved, yet not surprised, to read this quote.
