#3212113 Rank the following Panthers linebackers from best to worst

Posted by iamcline on 18 January 2015 - 09:12 PM

Ranked on their performance while they were here.  Injuries excluded.  Or else Morgan, Davis and Beason would be bottom three.

Luke Kuechly

- Really nothing much to say here.  NFL DPOTY...

Thomas Davis

- Fierce and fast.  Incredible cover linebacker, and nasty instincts.  Took a bit to develop, but when he did...BOOM.

Dan Morgan

-  Until Thomas Davis emerged as a stud and Kuechly gained DPOTY, Morgan was easily the best Mike backer in team history.  When healthy (ya ya) he was the best linebacker on the field.  Great in coverage and stout against the run.  C'mon, SB 38...

Kevin Greene

-  One of the all-time great pass rushers, but only here for a flash.

Sam Mills

- Meant more in the locker room, but he was a pivotal part of the team without a doubt.  He basically had a hand....so to speak in our first win.

Jon Beason

-  Had the makings to be the best Panthers linebacker, but his size really hurt him.  Still an excellent linebacker, just not elite like we had all hoped.

Lamar Lathon

-  Good player, benefited from having Kevin Greene and Sam Mills around him.

#3208335 Panthers in talks w/Josh Norman about extension

He's not going to get Shut-down corner money.  Not a chance.

...and I wouldn't give it to him either.

#3203949 Steve Smith attempted to fight Jermaine Wiggins after loss?

Posted by iamcline on 13 January 2015 - 08:31 PM

Huddle TMZ strikes again...

If you don't care about the guy so much, why take every opportunity to put his name in your mouth?

Because it's fun shoving this kind of dirt in the homer fans face.  You know, the fans who still think the Franchise lost out by letting him go.  You know, the ones who said we wouldn't make the playoffs without him, etc... blah blah blah.

Just so much fun... :)

#3177634 Meanwhile....Saints fan's droolling over Luke

Posted by iamcline on 04 January 2015 - 02:40 PM

Hey, remember when we were all waiting on pins and needle for Luke to fall to number 9 in the draft so we could pounce on that middle linebacker we desperately needed? And remember how ultra-thrilled we all were when we managed to ****** him up? Good times.

I rage stomped a Papa Johns box...threw my remote.  I wasn't thrilled we took yet another friggin' linebacker.

Now I feel bad for abusing that innocent fold of cardboard and TV remote.  They didn't deserve that.

#3147282 Dear Steve Smith.....

Steve Smith can lick our collective genitals.  Sure the split sucked, but perhaps I would pretend to give two rat's asses about that guy if he didn't try and trash us every chance he gets.

#3102649 Josh Norman: Munnerlyn Never Helped Me

Posted by iamcline on 23 November 2014 - 11:35 PM

Captain was damn good nickel CB. Not his fault he has no talent and asked him to play on the outside. Dude could have flawless coverage.....height difference with those matchups was just something he couldn't control

Also, people need to bump the breaks on acting like Norman has surpassed Captain. He hasn't yet. Nickel Captain to date is still better and more proven than Norman

I'll take outside Norman vs. a nickelback any day of the week.  Munnerlyn was a hack.  Was always a liability in coverage.  At least Norman has size and the competitive fire to get in on the fight.  Captain was always out of position.

I love how the author tries to use INTs as a reason why Munnerlyn is better. Hey! Did you ever stop to think QBs threw to Captain a lot because he sucked? Most of his INTs were basically handed to him also.

The huddle worshiped Munnerlyn because of those INTs...

I watched them in order.  Episode 1-6.  As silly as Jar Jar was, it didn't ruin the movie for me.

Start with the Prequels.  Let the story unfold as it should...from the beginning.
