And I feel the same about Edwards also..........

And in reference to Steve Smith I did say his first couple of years not his entire career. His first year he started only one game with 0 touchdowns. My point in saying that is you can't use someone's rookie year or lack of a rookie year as a basis to say they are a bust.

Because he never earned playing time?

Maybe because he was on injured reserve, duh!

Being realistic indeed however if you read the entire 3 pages worth of thread I think it's safe to say that you along with others have bashed him as a bust along with statements about other players.

It always amazes me how some loyal fans seem think they are so knowledgeable by hiding behind internet reports and stats.

Again I will say I hope Irvin as well as Goodson (I believe he was mentioned in this thread as well) go on to prove you wrong.

Good day to you.

You guys really should do your research before making such bold statements. How could you call Irvin a bust when he hasn't had the opportunity to play a regular season game yet? A guy that had a solid performance in preseason and training camp both this year and last year but was unable to play a season due to being placed on injured reserve isn't a bust in my book. If you all had done your research you would also note that prior to Irvin's injury last preseason he had just racked up a sack.

Guys coming into the league at this position often times are work in progress, especially when you aren't able to get a consisten flow of reps in order to get into rythmn. Hell Steve Smith's first couple of years were nothing to write home about.

Having a career in professional sports from the management side, I strongly disagree with you guys.

None of the starting DT's currently on the roster have numbers or prior experience to boast about.

One day you all glorify someone then the next you trash them.

I really hope Irvin isn't cut and proves you all wrong!
