#2957683 This Week's Winners and Losers according to PFF

Posted by PackPanther on 16 September 2014 - 11:37 AM

To be fair, I am almost more willing to believe PFF than what the coaches TELL the media. I cant imagine after a 3 drop game with a holding penalty on a big running play and pretty bad run blocking for a good part of the game that he did better than last week. I can see it as focusing on the good things he did and trying to get him to forget about the mistakes. Because I definitely think that the last 2 drops were because he couldnt stop thinking of the first one.

#2732782 Ed Dickson visiting the Panthers

Tight end Ed Dickson is likely to sign with the Panthers today during his visit, according to a source. On his way to Carolina now

#2712013 D-Jax Big Possibility of Being Cut

Posted by PackPanther on 22 March 2014 - 11:01 AM

If he is outright cut, I guarantee someone will be able to pay him more than the panthers. The only way he comes here is if he gets traded but the odds are very low he gets trade here

#1786269 For Those Of You Tired Of The Alex Smith Situation...

Posted by PackPanther on 29 May 2012 - 02:53 PM

Honestly, I can't see it being much different than on the huddle. Everyone on here is a homer first and an objective football analyst second. While of course I disagree with much of what they are saying, its their team. Its not their fault their QB called out someone. Basically you back your team no matter what.

Also, we see it on the huddle, some people are bigger idiots than others, so of course every other teams forum will have the same thing.

Why is the second scenario called the B) scenario? Honestly thats really sick man. Yes its possible that TD is done, but to seem happy about it is a disgrace.

#1703266 Jeremy Shockey Still In Play For Panthers

Posted by PackPanther on 25 March 2012 - 04:55 PM

You're terribly misguided, Barnridge has proved NOTHING a few years ago? Seriously? Shockey has been praised for his leadership by Cam and the rest of his teammates. Shockey was teaching Cam how to be a better leader, I don't where you're getting this from, but it certainly isn't true

When did I say that he proved something? I said that you are underestimating him and I said that he was playing very well in Training Camp before he went down with the ankle injury. It wasnt for nothing that Rivera had tons of good things to say about Barney during training camp.

Obviously I have not seen all the practices and workouts he has had, but I know you havent either. Therefore, if the coaches wanted him back, (like they obviously did because they gave him an extension midseason) then obviously they think that he should get a shot.

You cant PROVE yourself until you get a CHANCE.

#1662651 NFL Mulling Over Idea Of Letting Players Race In The 40 At The Combine

Posted by PackPanther on 24 February 2012 - 08:26 AM

I think the change that they should make to the combine is have the guys do drills in pads, especially the speed drills because running in pads is completely different than running in shirt and shorts

#1426155 Looks like there's bad blood between Rivera and Lovie Smith

Posted by PackPanther on 28 September 2011 - 04:16 PM

I agree. Did you listen to the press call with J. Peppers on panthers.com. I really made me sick how much of a asshole Pep is. I mean I really hope we go out there and crush that whole team

#1369603 CB cuts

I would love to get Perrish Cox. The kid can flat out play. Plus the whole idea of Rivera was to be a mentor as well as a coach so we can take some of the bad eggs and try to make them work for us.

#1353680 6/19 75 yards....

http://nbcsports.msn.../ns/sports-nfl/

Start Culpepper! Stafford looked abysmal in his 2nd preseason start. 5-13 34 yards, and an INT on the FIRST PLAY of the game. But hey, lets hold this years #1 draft pick to a higher standard. Guarantee if Luck was here, the response would be so different.

If Luck was here we wouldnt have these problems. Say what you want but Luck is a lot more accurate and he has better footwork. He may have stats that were more similar to Clausens but in the immortal words of John Fox, "It is what it is."

#1178483 Round 7: Lee Ziemba

Its sad but I think he is a better pick than Zach Williams.

#1158245 Clausen stopped listening to coaches

Posted by PackPanther on 23 April 2011 - 12:42 PM

Maybe we should give Clausen a little more credit. Sounds like he was trying to figure out the NFL all on his own haha.

#1087515 FYI on the Newton Debate

Posted by PackPanther on 10 March 2011 - 06:26 PM

Obviously you are one of the folks this thread is directed towards. THose comments are defintely racist and you don't have to be black or racially sensitive to see them. We will all be better off if you keep those kind of ignorant comments to yourself.

can you please point to the place where I discuss race at all? is it the part where I said he is a thief? nothing to do with the fact he is black. just the fact that he stole a laptop. The part that his father was shopping him around to schools? no thats just what happened. Look I have no racial feelings towards him what-so-ever. I just think that he is a bad choice for this franchise and I think that there will be more problems when he goes pro.

The point I was trying to get across is that trouble follows him everywhere. If that seems racist to you then idk what else I can say to you

#1087508 FYI on the Newton Debate

Posted by PackPanther on 10 March 2011 - 06:21 PM

See... I can respect this guy. He's going after Cam using emotional subjective allegations and assertions, most of which are unprovable, but he's admiting "I don't like him or his family." Cool. Gotcha.

Now, of course, my response would be that none of what he said really matters in the NFL, but hey... that's PackPanther's opinion, and I can respect it.

Good post man.

just curious, but do you think he has a good family? a dad who is basically a stage parent the sells his son around like a pimp. I mean I hope I am wrong even if we dont get Cam. I never hope that he will be a bum but thats just the feeling I get.

also which of these are unproven. We know that his father was trying to get money out of schools and we know Cam stole a laptop. We also know he cheated on a test which I didnt even mention in my first post. so, which of these "allegations" is unproven?

#1087472 FYI on the Newton Debate

Posted by PackPanther on 10 March 2011 - 06:10 PM

We've been all over the supposed "Football reasons". Pretty much every possible concern has been refuted, or Cam has show it is not beyond his ability, in just a handful of weeks, to overcome.

And yet, day in, day out, in almost every thread, the Cam-hate club bashes and bashes and tries every angle to make him look bad.

It has come to the point where those arguing against him either:
1: ) Don't have all the facts about him as a player, or our needs as a team
2: ) Are ignoring the facts in their own stubborn defense of an opinion that was proven inaccurate.
3: ) ARE haters.

The same people against Cam were some of the people for Andrew Luck. When Luck said he was staying in school, and Cam's name got mentioned, we heard things like "We don't need more youth!", even though Luck would have been that. Or "we don't need a QB from the draft.", despite Luck being exactly that.

You guys talk out of both sides of your mouth, and I'm really sick of the rhetoric.

As I've been saying, I'd rather you chumps man up and just be honest and say "I don't like him, and that's why we shouldn't pick him.", than continue to banter on and on about irrelevant issues that don't factor into him being selected. You don't even have to reveal WHY you don't like him. Just man up and say you don't, and move the hell on.

Bottom line is this. Despite the campaign waged against him or for him on this board... he's coming here for a private workout and interview. Rivera has said positive things about him and had dinner with him. Hurney has said we need to address the QB position more than anything else, and we aren't trading our draft pick. They are going to make their decision, and there isn't jack any of us can do about it.

Honestly I think Cam has all the talent in the world but do I want him. HELL NO. The reasons:
1) He is crook. Stealing a computer when at UF. Thats not someone who I want to be the face of my franchise.
2) I dont like his family. I know people will say you cant judge people based on their families but if his dad is blackmailing schools to get his son. I know this is generalizing, but bad families usually create bad kids.
3) I dont think he is smart enough to be a NFL QB. Just listening to him talk and seeing how he has worked with 3 big time QB coaches and still has so many problems, then I dont think he is smart enough.
4) I can see him being really just wanting to be an icon. He is going to have a big "possy", waste money, go to strip clubs, its just asking for trouble.

I know I am generalizing on a lot of these topics but I have just seen it time and time again and I cant see him being a big time QB.
