#2747693 Cam Newton and Luke's pressers 4/22/2014

Roman Harper does not come across as the douche nozzle I thought he was.  Luke sounds like he helped old ladies across the street all summer.  Cam is business.

#2742992 Rivera comments on Steve Smith, or does he?! Warning: high levels of Gan...

I don't think this is directed at Smith per se but it does have something to do with trying to reinvent and make things better. Rivera is a thinker (I remember a post about him and a journalist in college). He is somewhat deep. Going to Knaus seems a bit far fetched in football terms but if you know anything at all about racing, this guy wins and has done it consistently for years. I think Rivera is looking for perspective and then wants to find a method of application.

I know everyone is chomping at the bit for a couple positions but the reality of this draft is no matter what we should be able to get 2-3 first year starters and 2 more quality players that can make waves. I am not really stressing over a single position at this point. I think we are going to simply build a better football team.

My happiness for Cooks is offset and surpassed by the thought Byron Bell lining up against Clowney (to ATL) two times next year.  Yikes!

Proehl is a good evaluator. Is there a Bojangles in Indiana?

#2725328 Lamarcus Joyner

Posted by Not Carlos Danger on 02 April 2014 - 09:38 PM

I think FS is being highly overlooked right now.  All indications show Godfrey is either cut or is a flex CB/S and Harper+Lester are at SS.

We basically have Colin Jones.

Joyner could be solid.  I really like Dion Bailey and Kenny Ladler though.  There could be some diamonds in this FS class that seems less than spectacular to most.

Totally agree with this and think it is valid.  Once Godfrey is deemed healthy he could very well be cut or restructured.  I do think that there are adequate replacements in the late rounds to fill the void but as OP said you get a player that makes immediate impact.  I am sure that it will definitely stress the servers on the Huddle but not sure if it is such a bad selection.

Turner will go before the 3rd.

Take that to the bank. Too big and too quick to fall that far with regards to a premium position i.e. LT. That is not even mentioning him dominating in college and doing well at the señor bowl.

Agree with Turner going before the 3rd as he might be a mid 2nd rounder or higher. Would be great to get him in the late 2nd.

At 28 or 60, there's limited options if one of Lewan/Martin/Koaundijo doesn't fall. Richardson may be a guy we could get in RD2 that could start at LT but outside of the potential in Billy Turner, Fleming, and Hurst there's not many plug and play LTs. I'm trying to go value and instant impact with these picks.

I dont think you can serve up a left tackle on demand despite what some folks must think. Hopefully we end up with one but don't want to reach just so we can say we drafted an LT. Would be very comfortable with this draft but would assume we pick up a tackle via FA.

#2716275 Franchise Transition - Offseason interest

Posted by Not Carlos Danger on 25 March 2014 - 09:07 PM

Just saw the news that Ralph Wilson passed and could not help make a comparison to the Panthers eventual transition away from Big Cat.  I don't know if there are direct parallels and certainly believe that you cant jump to conclusions but I will be keeping up with the goings on of the Bills franchise as it moves to a different ownership whether it be within the family or a different group.

All that said I would be remiss not to say RIP Ralph Wilson.  A great AFL founder that helped build the league into what it is today.

#2710365 Jonathon Jones and Joe Person - Observer Panthers "coverage"

Posted by Not Carlos Danger on 21 March 2014 - 12:50 PM

Embarrassing, guys. Is there anything we can do to let the CO know we aren't happy or satisfied with the coverage of this team?

You two continue to get abused by regional beat writers and have absolutely no type of pulse on OUR team. Yes, I know the CO is a horrible newspaper, but it's not an excuse for how terrible and uninspiring it is having you two bozos as our beat writers. Y'all couldn't even get a freaking scoop on Tiquan freaking Underwood.

Joe, you have the personality of a wet mop and work slower than a quadriplegic taxi driver. Breaking News, Person: Steve Smith will be in Baltimore next season. And JJ, why don't you quit flashing the "I'm an important NFL beat writer" card on Montford Drive with the 21 year old girls and get some sort of scoop on the team. I'm surprised creeper Brett Jensen let's you on his turf at Angry Ales.

Also, a big shout out to @RavensInsider for supplying us Panthers junkies with our fix. Another big shout out to Bill Voth for essentially taking over as our unofficial beat writer. I still don't approve of some of the comments you've made about Cam but at least you have an idea of what's going on w/ the team.

Anyway, have a great weekend. Let's go Mercer!

No disrespect in what I am about to tell you but this is basically like stating that the sky is blue.  Agree that it is pathetic though.
