#3241117 Your valentines gift, panthers related?

Posted by tailg8or on 13 February 2015 - 03:51 PM

Been married 37 years partly because I wouldn't buy her any Panther related stuff on Valentine's Day. Some woman are dyed in the wool Panther fans but not my wife. She tolerates my obsession and even goes to some games. But you can count on the flowers, romantic dinner and a chick flick. Might try and convince her 50 shades of gray is about a blind guy.( just kidding, she read the first book). But she likes sappy, and I like happy so it is all good. I can't complain as I got one of the glass tables out of the BOA suites that were remolded recently with no complaint from her. So it is all good......

Well said panthers55 ... I am going to use that phrase.  Good advice for all.

#3217198 Carolina Panthers 2015 NFL Draft Roundup - Round 1

Posted by tailg8or on 22 January 2015 - 03:41 PM

I think Gman is going to surprise us by drafting a TE in rds 3-5. Having another reliable pass catching threat from the 2 TE formation is valuable in Shula's scheme.

#3215456 So tell me

Posted by tailg8or on 21 January 2015 - 08:20 AM

Because ...

- you have recently won a Superbowl and are going back again

- your coach seems to get 110% effort from all players, ours never have

- your game is fast and aggressive, our offense is not

- your coach takes calculated risk and it works, ours has a manual switch

- your owner has done a masterful job engaging the fans and promoting the brand, I love JR but not the same

jealousy shows its ugly head in many different ways.  IMO, we don't hate the hawks.  We covet what you have.  I hope you pound the Pats into submission.

#3191662 Is Philly Brown Out Today?

Posted by tailg8or on 10 January 2015 - 06:27 PM

Are you really that naive? Look how many UDFA we have on our team that were passed over by all 32 teams all 7 rounds in the draft. We should drop them immediately because (according to your logic) they were passed over so therefore they suck.

Please genius.....tell us all we need to know.

Speaking of UDFAs that were passed over ... guess who is the starting LT for the Ravens.

Lol ... sorry, couldnt resist. DG should have the huddle in his war room.

Must admit ... it is fun to watch Smitty again.

#3187462 Dallas or Green Bay

Posted by tailg8or on 08 January 2015 - 04:29 PM

Dallas and for these reasons ...

1)  We get payback against the Cards for Jake's 60 interceptions (close enough) during the last playoff game.  I really think that was our Superbowl to win if he hadn't choked..

2)  We do the unthinkable ... the lowly Panthers who don't deserve to be in the playoffs knock off the Superbowl champs.  We will see this Saturday.

3)  We shatter Jerry's dreams again and defeat the Cowboys in their house for a trip to the Superbowl.  Jerry goes from the stadium to the therapist for treatment ... then to his counselor ... then to his shrink.  His nightmares of losing to the Panthers in the playoffs continue.

For me ... the above is the perfect path to the big dance.  That is why it must be Dallas.

#3182778 Rarely in life ...

Posted by tailg8or on 06 January 2015 - 01:44 PM

... do players / teams have the opportunity to shock the sports world.  Do it in a way that leaves everyone dumbfounded and in disbelief.  It is so shocking that every sports talk show in America is covering it on Monday morning (including Mike & Mike).  Panthers haven't had that chance since the SuperBowl when the Patriots used a last minute field goal to secure the victory.  This is their chance again.

Outside of Carolina, nobody thinks they deserve to be in the playoffs.  The majority think the only reason we beat the Cards was due to their QB situation.  Many have referred to the Panthers as the reason why the playoff rules need to be rewritten ... to prevent a lowly team like the Panthers from ever making it in.  Outside of the Carolinas most don't want us there ... or really don't care.  The national television ratings for the Cards / Panthers game was the lowest of all playoff games last weekend.  Now, the kid that nobody likes has to play the golden boy ... the defending SuperBowl champions.  Vegas has us as double-digit underdogs.  Except for Herm, most analysts don't give us a chance.  Practically all the national sports talk is about the other 3 games.

To all the players that are lurkers on this board (yes, there are some), this is your chance to do something special.  This is your chance to literally shock the sports world.  We believe in you ... you believe in each other ... but nobody else does.  Give everything you have to preparation this week and from kickoff, leave it all on the field.  Seize this opportunity and silence the 12th man.  You may never get another chance like the one you have this weekend.

#3177092 BOA was rocking tonight

Voice is gone, head is throbbing, stomach hurts from pizza at 3am and wallet only has a few crumpled dollar bills ...... GREAT NIGHT!

Dont know if you could tell on tv but the players were feeding off the energy from the crowd. Great job everyone!

#3152916 Since picking 21st or later is now a legit possiblilty. . .

Not likely to get Scherff, Stanley or Peat ... but Flowers and Collins are possibilities. Biggest dropoff will be rds 2 & 3.

Doesn't have Hardy on the edge this year.  That's a part of it.

#3149921 Rivera: "Learned from first Atlanta game to stay aggressive"

Posted by tailg8or on 22 December 2014 - 08:37 PM

Its actually pretty simple ... being the head coach is too big for Ron. Not cerebral enough ... hence the 'deer in the headlights' look and poor decisions. Will be a DC again someday.

Would like to see the new Dallas stadium but Nashville is too much fun to pass up.

#3149380 Julio Jones - the problem child

Posted by tailg8or on 22 December 2014 - 01:59 PM

Norman matches up well against Julio. Did so during the last game. Its Roddy that you need to worry about. Hopefully, Bene will help with that.

Outcome of this game will be decided in the first quarter. If our dline can get pressure on Ryan, he will get that 'deer in the headlights' look again, and the game will be ours. If he gets a comfortable pocket and has time to pick us apart, it will be a long day.
