#3195284 Congratulations Panthers on a pretty good season

Posted by x djdrew x on 10 January 2015 - 11:13 PM

Considering 5-6 weeks ago, everyone including myself wanted to tank, fire Rivera, sack Cam, scratch everyone and throw away their fandom because we were so terrible. I give them props for keeping it going and making me feel like i was misjudging them.

Let's get better this offseason and smack these fools in the mouth for the NFCS 3 peat!

despite me being on the RR hater train, who can possibly be upset with back to back Division champs and hosting a playoff game for the 2nd straight year?? What is happening, is this real life?

#3137927 "you dont win in this league by kicking field goals" - Ron Rivera

Obviously RR blacked out during the 2nd half and OT of the Bengals game since we did try to win by kicking field goals...hmm.

#3128181 The only QB with a higher QB rating than Derek Anderson is Aaron Rodgers

If Stewart can hang 150+ yards rushing on the Bucs I might even be comfortable with Pickles behind center.

Whoa... Pickles? Let's not get crazy....

With that being said, I can't say I disagree with you !

#3123799 Ron Rivera Will Now Proceed To Save His Job

Posted by x djdrew x on 07 December 2014 - 07:35 PM

while beating the Taints makes me incredibly happy, I have this sinking feeling that beating a dead horse (taints) will somehow forgive the repeated butt-pounding we have received from any team we've played that was actually competent.

I have no doubt that Rivera will save his job. Call him  Tuesday-trash-pickup Ron, because he knows how to coach when things are in Garbage time.

Fug you Ron.

Never felt this little excitement after a win in quite some time.

#3122609 This is not Shula

Shula got drunk this morning, decided to call in sick, told Cam "it's his errfense now"

Yeah having some emotion on a gutless team with a gutless coach.....

..shame on him for not knowing he should just roll over and take it in the butt.

#3091733 What do you think of Rivera's habit of blaming individual players by name...

Posted by x djdrew x on 16 November 2014 - 06:08 PM

i really, even desperately wanted to believe that last year was not a fluke, but let me just dump on Ron, using his own words:

I expected him to be Riverboat down the stretch. We didn't get that at all.

He struggled with playcalling and general head coach responsibilities most of the day.

I wanted to bench Ron because he was coaching poorly.

and, of course:

I believe Ron is on the cusp of coaching success ........yeah, right.

Model citizen for the no fun league?

This totally made me LOL at the time.

#2209348 All signs point to Keenan Allen being there in the 2nd. A no brainer for us?

Posted by x djdrew x on 26 April 2013 - 03:28 AM

I dont see Allen being worthy of #44, if we had a 3rd, I'd say that it'd be just about right. What would he bring to the table that we don't already have? We have to make this pick count.....and this ain't Hurneyville no more...lol

I have a feeling Gettleman will have no problem bringing another day 1 surefire starter in with this pick in the 2nd....probably safety, corner or OL, would be my guess at least.

Having added Ginn and Hixon to the proven Lafell and smitty...and the potential of a gettis, pilares, etc...how many 4 wr sets did we run last year anyway? that set of WRs, sadly, if you look around the league, really isn't that bad at all. Jets, Fins, Bills, Zona, Rams, Jags, Titans, TB, ravens, browns, chiefs, chargers, colts, bears, vikings, raiders, lions and skins have a better 1-5?? No, maybe they have a young stud which we need, but frankly, smitty got another year or two left in the tank and WR is one of the positions that I feel comfortable with Gettleman scouting the lesser known guys....really, our WRs are above average at best but it is not a huge need.

With that being said, however, I firmly believe that after this draft, we will be looking for offense in next year's draft....you know, when we are picking #32 ;)
