#2920131 Cam back at practice, looks OK, shows no limitations

Posted by footballisasport on Yesterday, 06:40 PM

It's hard to have 17 pages of "Hey, that's good news!" posts. Controversy drives discussion. Consensus is pretty boring.

That said, I'm glad to see Cam doing well. My fear is when he start taking hits during a game, and he feels the cumulative effect, or if he takes a hit that aggravates the injury.

He's a tough dude, so I imagine he'll play through it, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see DA for a series or two.

Spoken like a true Panther fan. always fearing instead of taking it day by day.

After so many years of being on this site, it still cracks me up how much so many of u enjoy worrying.LOL

#2916240 Is Cam Newton Really A Franchise QB

Posted by footballisasport on 30 August 2014 - 10:59 AM

Damn these kids today... saying they're comparing Cam to the greatest QBs of all time and NOT including big Joe Montana....

GET OFF MY LAWN!!

I am sure they must be asking Joe Who?!

Now there is a QB who knew how to school other teams. But even he didn't do it by himself. He had on his side, and to this day, one of , if not the world's best, Receiver in Jerry Rice.

#2915408 MMQB: Expect Panthers to take Substantial Step Back

Posted by footballisasport on 29 August 2014 - 05:21 PM

Sounds like these writers r reading this site. Bet u will never see this much scrutiny with Luck, or Matthew Stafford. I am sure under such scrutiny, u find the same flaws. See what happens when u didn't end up with a media choose QB.

I'm sorry?

I am surprised u're not saying Manzeil is a better thrower than Cam.

#2907970 Hurry-Up/High Tempo Offense

Posted by footballisasport on 24 August 2014 - 08:39 PM

From some of tweets I was reading in training camp our offense seemed to struggle with the hurry up. I just believe it fits Cams skillset pretty well and could mask some of our deficiencies offensively this season.

Why do the fans of this team always looking for things to mask this team's weaknesses instead of demand that they get fixed?

It's time to stop masking and start fixing. Consistency should be the name of the game, not hope and pray.

#2907954 Cam not playing Thurs, has rib injury

Posted by footballisasport on 24 August 2014 - 08:30 PM

Looks like he can't win with some of our fans regardless. If he doesn't run people complain, if he does they still complain.

U are so right. Three seasons of fans harping endlessly on everything their QB does while settling for mediocrity from the rest of the team.

Thank you for saying that, DA doesn't hold it as long as cam that's why he's not getting sacked or hit as much

If Anderson is so much better than Cam, then how did he lose his job as a starter? Clearly he wasn't doing something right.

#2907743 Time for Cam to learn to slide.

Posted by footballisasport on 24 August 2014 - 07:14 PM

For three season, all I have been reading from thread after thread, is WHAT CAM NEEDS TO DO. When is it going to be what the team needs to do to protect Cam.

Funny thing is, just watched the 49ers game and the announcers were saying that Colon hasn't quite jelled with his team, in other words, he's been playing bad this preseason. But at the end of the game, Erin asked him what the team needs to do, not so much what he needed to do, to be ready for the season. Something tells me after the Pats game Cam was the main topic of conversation and it wasn't what the team needs to do to build around him.

I am seriously beginning to believe that this organization really don't know what to do with talented players. They don't know how to nurture them and mold their natural gifts and talents where they can be properly utilized. I said it before and i will say it again, this team is going to destroy Cam before they fix what is really wrong with it. Then u fans will either treat him like u did Carson, or tear him down so badly that he won't be any good for any other team and forced into early retirement. I am sure those in the media will be more than happy to help u.

I pray that don't happen but....

LOL.now Cam needs to work on his deep throws. Every time Cam doesn't throw a good ball, he needs to work on it. U folks are killing me.

Remember this offense was about Smitty for quite a few years. Everyone else either had to take a back seat or not outshine him. It is going to take a little while for someone to step up and be the shining star of the receiving team.

#2897558 Manziel Not Impressing

Damn, he was flipping the redskins bench off.

are u for real? He did that?

So i guess his on and off the field issues isn't such a big deal as it was with Cam. SMH

If Cam did that, they would be ready to sprinkle him with holy water and questioning his leadership intangible.

#2897516 What do you guys make of the Cam haters still out there today?

Posted by footballisasport on 18 August 2014 - 09:05 PM

You could be right, but on the other hand, there are people that call in and say guys like Philip Rivers, Eli Manning, or other qb's who have been doing it longer than Cam shouldn't start.  The problem is that if there are 50 people that don't think Cam should start, they will be the loudest, and the ones who will dial in to these shows.

Personally I thought Cam looked rusty at the start, but really picked it up once Stewart had that big run.

Dude, I am a Giants fan and LOVE me some ELI, believe u me, rusty Cam is 5 times better than Eli. I honestly don't think Eli or to many QBs would hold up behind the Panthers O-line.

And what is so funny is how quickly Cam knocked that rust off considering and started to connect with the receivers. Which tells me some Panthers' fans simply watch the game and root for every good move and ready to fire for every bad one.

Picture this, Colin went 5 of 9 and was useless last night in the 49er/Bronco's game. Cam went 4-9, knock some rust off and got two tds on the way to his team winning. Cam is very determined. he will find a way to help his team win. That is something many of the Panthers fans seem to easily overlook.

#2897496 Manziel Not Impressing

Posted by footballisasport on 18 August 2014 - 08:52 PM

Honestly, I don't know which is more sad, watching him throw all of those bad throws or listening to those on ESPN defend him so he can take the job from Hoya.

Even worst is listening to Gruden defend RG 3 bad throw and quick desire to run at any chance. He says it's his natural instinct and shouldn't be forced to change. I can remember when those same folks on ESPN/NFL were saying that Cam will never make a good QB until he learns to sit in the pocket. The pressure that was placed on Cam was ridiculous. They are now singing a different tune

#2897454 What do you guys make of the Cam haters still out there today?

Posted by footballisasport on 18 August 2014 - 08:18 PM

I am honestly shocked by the number of callers to talk radio today calling for Cam's head. What the flying hell? Cam is coming off his second Pro Bowl appearance in three years, an ankle surgery, and he's never looked good in preseason that I can remember. Yet there are people all over Facebook and WFNZ just GNASHING THEIR TEETH today over how he played. And he played FINE after the first quarter.

Are we just going to have to learn to deal with this crap for the duration of his career? If you found yourself ripping Cam today and were one of the people calling for Derek Anderson to start, I heard the Ferguson PD is hiring.

That shows how powerful today's media is. Cam is supposed to always play mistake free football, something NOT ONE QB will ever do, or he's a failure.

I am sitting  here watching the Skins/Brown game, and both RG and Manzell suck but by tomorrow the fans from both teams will still sing their praises and make excuses for those God awful throws.

Cam clearly had rust in the beginning of last nights game but started to hit his target in the second half. I actually found last night's game quite entertaining because both teams were moving the ball. This game I am now watching is a serious snoozefest. Neither QB can throw a straight ball, yet you never heard the phrase accuracy issues at all.

#2896313 Why does Kapershit not get poo for the way he looks during after game interviews

Posted by footballisasport on 18 August 2014 - 07:01 AM

Although I do like him, I find it interesting how labels are issued out by our media. Cam gets the arrogant label hung around his neck because of a statement that was taken out of context. Yet Colin and R G'S behavior, which isn't much different than Cam's never gets labeled. I don't get it
