Workplace Practical Jokes

02 May 2012 - 04:51 PM

We had a guy that surfed porn in the office a little more than ususal (hard to do in an office where everyone was a man) so our President decided to break him of it. He had our IT guy route all his emails through him before they were sent. On a few to a MAJOR client (worth millions a year) he had porn pictures attached to "Ralph's" emails that were '"sent" to this client. He faked a reply that the guy was irate and if this is how we did business we could count him out. He called all of us that dealt with this cleint in his office and just berated Ralph. It was more than hilarious and damn hard to keep a straight face while Raplh explained that stuff was just attaching itself to his emails and it HAD to be a virus. He thought he was finished for sure.

I'm sure there are better ones out there?

North Korea Crazy Antics

13 April 2012 - 08:48 AM

This regime is downright scary. Let's see they:
Call then press in from all over the world
Try to launch a rocket that has done NOTHING but fail
Wants to brag about it but can't because it fell in the ocean
The press that is there knows about it before 99% of them
They have no backup plan on what to tell them should it fail

All I can say is WOW. Now they are embarrased and who knows what they may try next with this 29 yo nut job. Maybe if they start trying to duct tape a nuclear warhead on this "missle" they will blow themselves up and we will not have to worry about it.

Pats fans reactions

06 February 2012 - 12:01 AM

Just looked at the Patriots forum (not trolling just reading) and here was a few threads:
Wes Welker cost us the game. Dump him.
Tom Brady cost us the game. Time to draft a new QB.
The defense cost us the game. Blow the whole team up.

Now I realize emotions run high after a SB loss and our forum would probably be no better but is still crazy some of the reactions from people. Never mind your team would not even be in SB without Brady and Welker. They almost won it too at the end....A healthy Gronk may have made that rebound catch in the endzone. I can only hope we get so jaded with success to make such nutty statements.

I have flown all my business life to various cities but NEVER on a train. I have some extra time before a conference and looked in to AMTRAK (Raleigh to Orlando). A bit over 12 hours one way. I think it may be neat to give this a try.
Anyone had much exp. with the rails? Any tips?

The Official Home Beef Jerky Thread

06 January 2012 - 07:26 PM

In the spirit of the Official Home Brew thread:
What Southern born guy does not have his own beef jerky recipe?

I actually bought a semi commercial dryer and would do like 2-3 pounds dried at a time. Instead of wine and cheese crowd I hang with the beef jerky and micro brew crowd.

Beef was round steak sliced thin by commercial slicer. Trim off ALL fat.

My marinade was basically this:
Hot sauce (Durky's usually)
Sea Salt
Apple Cider Vinegar-and I mean a lot.

24-48 hours marinade in frig.

Top the jerky off with sliced jalapenos, red pepper flakes, whatever.

Dry until plyable but not break. I did my dryer one hour at 150, one at 160, one at 170 and kept it there until the way I wanted.
