I'll give him credit for this much...

Cutler holding off on endorsements, for now

Good move, and perhaps a sign that he (or his agent, or someone in the organization) has heard the questions about his maturity and wants to do something to lessen them.

My opinion would still be that I'm not convinced Cutler is going to be worth what the Bears gave up to get him, but this is a good move.

"Marc Silverman and Jeff Dickerson from ESPN 1000 radio Chicago interviewed Denver Broncos defensive back Champ Bailey on the Waddle & Silvy show Monday. Bailey was asked where he thought new Bears quarterback Jay Cutler ranked among the top quarterbacks in the league.

``Well he's definitely in the top 10 as far as what he's done to this point,'' Bailey said. ``Now where he can be, he can be the best in the game, he has that ability. The guys very smart, very sharp, a good arm; he has all the stuff you'd want. He reminds me of a Marino, Elway type of guy, and he's going to be a great winner for them. It's unfortunate for us that we had to lose a guy like that, but we've got to move on, we've got some quality guys back there that can definitely get the job done so we've just got to go out and handle business as necessary.''

Bailey was asked if he ever questioned Cutler as a leader.

``No, not at all,'' he said. ``That's one thing about him, he's not a shouter, but when he gets upset and he knows we've got to get going he opens his mouth. I appreciate that from him, I'd rather have a guy that leads by example than a guy that talks all the time.''"

Well, now that one offseason NFC North quarterback drama emanating from Minneapolis has ended (we think), the football-following world needs a new one.

Enter Vikings receiver Bobby Wade.

Wade told our pal Paul Allen of KFAN within the hour that, during an offseason trip to Vegas with Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher, Urlacher expressed a not-so-flattering opinion of new Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.

Basically, Wade said that Urlacher said that Cutler is a "pussy."

Urlacher has been the cornerstone of the Bears' defense since 2000; Cutler arrived via trade earlier this year.

We're told that a podcast of the remaks will be up soon at KFAN's web site.

We hope their hamsters are rested and fed.

Yeah, the sportstalkers are all over this Urlacher/Cutler/p*ssy stuff right now.

meh

I want my captain on offense and on defense both to be chippy primadonna as*holes, provided they get the job done on the field.

Wade is probably just trying to stir poo up because the Vikes are now Favreless and he's jealous of the Bears QB situation. Wade sucks and has always sucked .

I wouldn't doubt it. Timing sure is convenient.
BU is a dick (not for that but in general) but it's pricky of Wade to out BU on some comment he made to Wade in a personal setting.
