Depends on your perspective.

If you're pro-McDaniels, you could argue that he's weeding out the selfish players and that strategy will ultimately make the Broncos a better team.

If you're anti-McDaniels, you could say he's alienating the most talented guys and in the process, screwing the team into the ground even before his first season ever starts.

Me? I'm McDaniels indifferent. I'm generally in favor of not putting up with BS from selfish players, but I'm also not convinced that McDaniels has what it takes to be a head coach as opposed to just an OC. Thus, I'm in "wait and see" mode.

I think he is also trying to distance himself from the shadow of Mike Shanahan.

just trying to make his own name which I can't blame him. They are two big shadows to be under.

Know who else has a big shadow?....Andy Reid but not quite in the same way.

Yeah anyone with common sense should be in "wait and see" mode.

Obviously, he has made a few rookie mistakes in handling of the press around the whole Cutler thing.

I think he wasn't quite ready to be a HC yet, and I thought the same of Mangini. I THINK he will do better than Mangini once their careers are further along, but I wouldn't stake anything on that.

I don't mind him getting rid of Cutler, I think that trade will work out in the end better for the Broncos. Although I did not LOVE their draft this year, they have an extra first next year as well.

IIRC, Marshall is in the last year of his contract, and maybe wanting an extension, and knows that he may not get one in Denver, because of off field stuff.

Though I don't like Cutler, I have to admit he has a helluvan arm. He may make some poor decisions but that arm is solid. McDaniels may have made a big mistake on the way he handled that one. Now he's making another mistake with Marshall, but Marshall is definitely a problem with ongoing domestic violence issues...

They've agreed to trade according to an article.

Quote:
“Yes there was a meeting between Brandon, and Mr. Bowlen. There was a request for a trade. Mr. Bowlen has said that ownership will do everything in it’s power to accommodate his wishes,” said Marshall’s agent Kennard McGuire to Fox31 Sports’ Josina Anderson Tuesday morning
Quote:
Update: The Ravens are seriously looking into the background of Marshall to possibly propose a trade. Apparently the going rate for Brandon is a 1st and a 3rd round draft pick.

They traded there pick next year for Smith in the second round this year, so the only first round pick they have left is the Bears pick from the Cutler trade.

Quote:
The Denver Broncos weren’t expected to be on the clock when they selected DB Alphonso Smith early in the second round. But they saw something in the 5′9″, 193 lb. cornerback that made them trade their natural 2010 first round draft pick (not the Chicago Bears‘ pick they received in the Jay Cutler trade) to get him.
