I look for the government to get involved in setting salaries and compensation for churche officials. They already have taken over the banks and auto industry. They are in the process of taking over the medical industry. Maybe churches will be next. What is the next largest?

As much as I hate the government running businesses, the industries they have are involved in have a common thread. As far as health care, it needs some reform.

Did you see the part of the article where she and Ben are both getting paid approx. $200K salary each by INSP? Crazy stuff.

Caught one of their 'faith pledge drives' while I was flipping channels. Unintentionally funny/sad. Since when is it scriptural for an 'evangelist' to ask people to put a faith offering on their credit card? And they never even make an effort to show what's being done with the money ministry-wise. Thanks to the Observer, now we know why. They've morphed into a family of crooks.

I didn't see that. I'm not surprised though. i went to dinner with her about 4 years ago and caught up. she herself lives in a 4 story home, not sure that she really worked i thought she stayed home with her kids but i figured she was bringing in money from INSP.

Wanna know how to spot a ministry you should not donate money too?

It has a CEO.

Ha!

My translation of that passage: Keep the masses mollified by perpetuating poverty and dependance on the succor of the church.

Keep 'em dumb and hungry and powerless, and they'll still need you.

yep
or it is heavily affiliated with a religion.

Most churches ministries are normally focused on getting people into heaven. I'm much more interested in helping people eat, have places to live and get medicine then saving there eternal souls and building churches.

oh how much money and time we waste.

considering most christians at that time were poor or slaves its a very appropriate statement that would reach the audience.

if u look into the old testament.

Abram was ‘extremely rich' (Genesis 13:2), Jacob became "very wealthy" (Genesis 30:43) and Isaac "became a very rich man and his wealth continued to grow" (Genesis 26:13). of course there is Lot and others.

King David was ‘a man after God's own heart' (1 Samuel 13:14) - but he was also incredibly rich.
