does any of this surprise you folks?

they elected a douchebag lawyer who never did anything of importance as a lawyer and only had MONTHS behind his belt as a senator.... Because he told them what they wanted to hear.

What else do you expect?

Obama doesnt know crap about running a damn thing cause he NEVER HAS.

What did he do for his state before he was elected? (other than use it as a launching pad for the WH job- then cut and run)

He helped all of those poor people! At least, he said he did in one of those books he wrote all about himself.

Most liberal politicians act like the only thing in their state budgets are cops, firemen and teachers. Because every time things get tight, or the people don't go along with more taxes, the politicians threaten their safety and their kids by saying, "If we don't get the increased revenue, then we will have to cut teachers and police".

In fact, they would rather cut teachers and police than their social programs.

But again, they have their priorities.

Every mortgage in america could have been payed off with all of the bailout and stimulus bills which did nothing.

Banks never lose (overall). The people always do

I heard also that with the amount of the stimulus package, Americans could have paid no taxes for like 5 months. That would have done way more than the liberal social crap we have and will be paying for.

I'd love to see the evidence you have that the stimulus package did nothing.

Not surprising. But then again, I'm comfortable with having my tax dollars go towards helping to bring the economy out of the worst recession since the Great Depression. I understand that others aren't comfortable with that use of their tax dollars. The way our tax dollars are spent is frustrating for every American. It's just how you choose to present the argument. I'll spend my entire life paying taxes to pay for one tomahawk missile fired in the Iraq war. But at the same time, you can frame it differently. I could spend my entire life paying taxes to support an NSF grant that funded research which help find a new way to treat prostate cancer and keep two members of my family alive for many more years than they would have lived without that federal money.

I wouldn't have a problem with it if that is what I believed would happen as a result of this bill. So from that perspective, I agree with you.

As for the tax dollars going to research etc. Hey we ALL are for it. How and who and where those funds go is my grind.
Why not have self directed taxes but the allocations go to the greater good bigges. Health, infrastructure, education etc?
I have been pushing that idea and I have sent some proposals to Senators and the White House. Yes, THAT White House.
