Well the stimulus package did nothing in my life that I can see.

However, I refinanced my house and haven't had a mortgage payment due for a few months. Now that has greatly helped. I'd love to see the evidence you have that bailout bills and stimulus packages help the people more than having their mortgages payed off.

I don't have that evidence and maybe never will. We won't be able to empirically show what effect the stimulus had for many years. We have estimates of it's potential effect now, but nothing concrete. Without the right information, I wouldn't argue that the stimulus package is better than an equal size transfer payment to taxpayers to pay down their mortgage. I was just responding to your statement that the stimulus package "did nothing."

It is not that it did nothing, we still have the much anticipated report to look forward to on the "marsh mouse".

I wonder if ABC will cary the results live in primetime.

We'll see the results in the form of inflation...It should start kicking in sometime next year.
