I thought the same exact thing when I read that part, I guess because I remembered the last Panther who was focused on a music career, but as a promoter.

I remember a few years ago when Colbert showed up to TC trying to promote a CD, I thought then, that I wish he would just come to TC focused on playing football instead. It takes a player that's fully dedicated to playing football in the NFL to become one of the better players, at the NFL level every player has talent and is gifted. DeAngelo found out himself (well, from Vinny too) that it takes going that extra mile to make yourself stand out from the rest.
