It's their only defense to the Gruden won with Dungy's team argument.

It is epic fail.

When Rich McKay left us cap strapped with no draft picks (Glaziers) players restructured so we could sign other players. Derrick Brooks was the most unselfish allowing us to be competitive. But Simeon wouldn't do squat. He was injured and we needed to sign someone to play his position...he was finally offered a choice to either restructure his deal or we would have to cut him to use the cash for signings. Simeon chose NOT to restructure and blamed Gruden and Allen and said he would be ready to play when the season started. Per his physical that wasn't the case. That proved to be true when he was cut from Denver and couldn't play for anyone. He is still out of the NFL, but is blaming Gruden.
You talk as if you were setting in the room with them when all this was going on. I don't pretend to be an expert on this situation but, I will go with what I'm hearing from people who have first hand info on dealing with chucky......which ain't too good. Good luck in defending your ex-sh*tty coach.

It was in the news. Also, there were many interviews with the Coaches and the GM on this. What you are hearing is gossip from a disgruntled player. The other complaint that was in the press around here about poor Simeon was that they made him show up at training camp before they cut him. The truth is he wasn't in town until he had to show up at training camp and that was the first chance staff had to give him a physical and evaluate him.

I was angry when Simeon got cut and I surely made it a point to try to find out BOTH sides to the media drama.

Please try to understand, what the media in the Tampa Bay Area did to Jon Gruden they did to Tony Dungy. There really is two sides to a drama and it makes sense to listen to them.

A.) It's been a couple of years removed from Cowher.
B.) He's definitely put his mark on the team, which the others hadn't had time to...

Epic fail...
Not really that far removed. Tony didn't go in and make big cuts in Indy...he kept the Offense intact and gradually worked on the defense over the years he was there. Gruden came in and let the whole offense go along with about 5 defensive players. When Tony Dungy came to Tampa most of our defense was already in place from Sam Wyche...Tony brought the system and Monte Kiffen.

My point really is that it really doesn't matter about the BS...it's a big accomplishment even to GET TO THE DANCE. The Coaches and players that go to camp and do the work, play each game deserve their reward. You should know that from your trip there. It's an amazing deal. You didn't win, but it's a big big deal to even show up. It shouldn't be minimized by such petty jealousy???? Or sour grapes??? I don't know what to call a lot of it. We had 2 great Coaches in Gruden and Dungy and neither we let go in a way that they deserved.

The "Buccaneers Team" won the Super Bowl and scored 48 points. Both the offense and defense showed up.

Both of Gruden's teams were in that Super Bowl

Keep telling yourself that since you're the only one who believes it.

Look, I HEARD Warren Sapp, a guy who says 100% what's on his mind ALL THE TIME and who LOVES Tony Dungy say just a couple of months ago on NFLN that there was no way they would win a SB with Dungy...they needed Gruden to push them over the hump.

Very true. The defense used to bust their tails and the offense under Dungy were treated like beauty queens. Gruden made them work as hard and made them account for their play like the defense had to. Sapp liked that.

I think that move helped both teams ultimately. Polian perhaps piggybacking off the 1999 Rams who had a great explosive O and had Lovie Smith running that tampa 2 defense (which is never mentioned how well that defense performed in conjunction with that type of O) hires Dungy because when you spend a majority of $$ on your O you need a defense where you can run it cheaply with maybe 1 or 2 key players and a bunch of disposable types you can more easily find in college.
The Bucs needed a tough taskmaster on O. Both teams have a ring out of the deal.
