Sure, there is absolutely nothing wrong with staying in school. At the same time, taking a holier than thou attitude toward a guy who has the ability to go to the NBA and make enough money to live on for the rest of his life is quite silly.

Plus, who are you to say whether someone is or isn't ready to leave college? Going to college doesn't instantly make you a more intelligent or capable person. Some of the dumbest people I've ever met are college graduates. Plus, let's be honest...the education that the average college basketball player gets isn't exactly that great.

It's called Insurance, Lloyd's of London writes it all the time. I feel for sure almost all them guys who have a chance of going 1st round have some sort of policy. Their millionaires if they blow a knee out. And you can't play 100% if your worried your going to get hurt.

And I dang sure ain't got no holier than thou attitude towards him or any of the rest that may leave. I have said I wish them the best will pull for them wherever they end up.

There you go again reading crap into my posts that ain't there. And another thing I can say or speculate what I like about his or anyone else's readiness it's called an "opinion" cause I'm sure they could care less what I think.

I actually feel bad for the guy. He could have went down in Tarheel history as 1 of the best at the position, and I think how some of the tarheel faithful have turned on him is wrong, would like to see him come back and go out on a good note. He deserves that much.

This whole "not ready for the NBA" is silly. Since when has being ready really mattered? Another year in college ball isn't going to get him ready. If he is talented enough to be in the NBA, then he will make it regardless of whether he goes this year or next.

Most local writers in the triangle are saying that the chances of him coming back to UNC are slim. He is just going to have to hope someone takes a chance on him in 1st round and I am not sure that is a lock.

Ellington has been told by a few scouts that he could easily slip into the late first round so he is still on the fence. Green will probably come back.

Six weeks ago I thought the chances of losing two of them were very slim at best but now....?

Maybe "not ready" is the wrong terminology but it would make some better prepared for the NBA.
Your right though if they have the talent they can make it cause the NBA's talent level is down so low even Luke Walton gets playing time!!!..

I can't help but think of Chris Paul (not that Lawson is that good), but a lot of Wake fans were saying that Paul wasn't ready. In truth, he was ready before he ever put on a Wake uniform.

There are some who might need another year or two in college to gain some maturity. Then again for some of the most immature, 10 years in college isn't going to help.

And they were crazy. If anything Paul's leaving proved how bad his surrounding talent was and sort of showed why they didn't go nearly as far in the NCAA tournament as everyone projected them to. And yes, I am a Wake fan.
