Which he had alot of those and people here seem to forget or choose not to acknowledge.

Pep isn't going to be replaced any time soon even with a first round pick, get used to it, get over it.

Good to see we franchised him, hopefully we should at least get a first round pick.

Most of the time OLBs aren't on the line of scrimmage and almost never get double teams. So he is right in saying that if he were an OLB, he could likely get a sack a game and a half dozen tackles with much less effort than he puts in now. Sure he would have to cover and run more than now, but what I think he is saying is that it takes lots of effort to get his stats having to regularly beat 2 guys on every play. Players on other teams in other positions seem to get as much production with much less work.

Is it true? I don't know but it appears that he thinks so.

I agree that this may in fact be his mentality. Some people don't seem to understand that he may also want to just move on and go elsewhere.

The reason doesn't really matter, hes a free man and can make his own choices. Everyone makes choices based on something, and not everyone will agree with what your reasons are.

Good viewpoint though, I was thinking that he may be burned out from being the main man(on defense). This in turn seems to make him not really want to try hard, and is why it looks to some people that he takes plays off.

Every panelist on NFL total access says they think we will keep Peppers, and that he will play. Man I dunno about that, will that make him try harder again for a new contract next year, or make him lay and egg to spite us?

Has Pep actually said anything himself or through his agent that he wants to be a 3-4 OLB? All I ever heard/read is that he would like to play in a 3-4. And if his thought process is what OD posted, he ain't gonna want to go to NE as a LB either. They value smart LBs and their system requires a big learning curve. I was wondering about the effort for sacks/wanting to be a pass rusher primarily thing which is why I had said before that I thought he wanted to be a WOLB in a 3-4.

First off, the Tags for this thread are cracking me up.

Second, ever since I heard about the Panthers trying to give Peppers the biggest contract in DE history, I've been hoping we would trade him. I'd rather have two or three quality players over Peppers.

We could trade him but it may get hairy. I'm not the only one who thinks this as well

I'll bet you we'll have a better Defense next year.

to read all the comments about peppers in this thread being a SOB, saying good riddance, F-off pepp, and so on makes me realize why we as Panthers Fans have such a sh*tty reputation for being fair weather fans. This is a business and he has been one of our best players since he was drafted. If you were a real Panther fan you would say "thanks Pepp" for the 7 years you played for us and good luck to you where ever you land. BTW Pepp, we need some compensation for your departure

That's pretty spot-on. But I can't blame anybody for being frustrated and lashing out right now. If they are still in that mindset months from now it's a different story but right now it's too raw. An emotional issue that throws logic out the window and begs for a more visceral response...

I don't hate Peppers, I just know that if we pay 3-4 players "biggest contracts at that position" then our team will suck.
