Do people not remember that Jake was a backup? He could have been a one hit wonder once he got here to Carolina. Jake is not gonna get us to the promised land. I've seen that ever since 2003. It's time to part ways and find another ship to ride.

Huh? If you actually paid attention to what Young said, you would notice that he said its the way in which Smith gets the ball that bothers him. In other words instead of the luck, hail mary, run your WR straight out of bounds throws, Young said to get Smith the ball more in space, and lead him better so he can kill it with his YAC. In more other words, short accurate throws, slants, ins and crossing routes. Not hail mary, and deep outs, or those straight along the sideline bull shits. In some more other words, you'd be crazy to think that a HOF QB doesn't know what he is talking about in this situation. He even pointed out how Jake lead smith straight out of bounds on several throws, and pretty much did diss how Jake is totally mishandling this potential HOF WR. |

Bottom line...if I'm trading Peppers, it will be for draft picks, not an expensive QB that may or may not be any better than what we already have. |

and 13 threads later... The argument continues... I will be so thankful when the fate of Cassel is learned so we can end this once and for all lol

What amazes me is that people who complain about Jake targeting Smith too much then turn around and tout Matt Cassel
![]() Cassel targeted Wes Welker at a higher rate than Jake targeted Smith, and that was with his second option being Randy Moss ![]() One of the reasons for that disparity is that Cassel isn't great at throwing deep passes. Now ask yourself, what is one of the favorite plays in the Panther offense? (if you said the deep pass, you're correct) Bottom line: Cassel isn't the right fit for this offense, and he sure as hell isn't worth Julius Peppers, even with a first rounder thrown in ![]() As I've said before, the Patriots are going to sucker someone into taking Scott Mitchell II, but Lord knows I don't want it to be us.

Yeah, I'd stick with that... Honestly, I don't have problem one replacing him, but with who? Cassel is not the option, IMO...
