Hurricanes sign Andrew Alberts

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed defenseman Andrew Alberts.

Alberts signed a two-year/$2.1 million contract that will pay him $800,000 in the first season and $1.3 million in year two."Andrew is a big, physical defenseman who should be just coming into his prime at the NHL level," Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford said. "He had a good year for the Flyers after suffering an injury the previous season, and should help solidify our blue-line with his defensive presence."He had a goal and 12 assists with the Flyers last season. He has no fantasy value unless your pool uses hits as a category. He had 157 hits last season for the Flyers.
