2-0 Canes after five minutes!!! Eric Staal and Cory Stillman each have two points already (Staal scored a goal with an assist from Stillman, and Matt Cullen scored a goal with assists from Staal and Stillman).

On a personal note, 102.9 finally increased their range, so I am able to listen to the games when I am stuck at work late at night (I work in the middle of the building, with horrible radio reception, even for a Raleigh station)

The Canes just can't seem to string together two solid periods anymore. Even on Monday, they really only played WELL in the second period.

3-2 Washington. I was really hoping that Monday was the start of some better play for the Canes, but if the second and third periods are a sign, this team STILL isn't even close to being prepared for the playoffs.

Hopefully Ray Whitney's injury isn't too bad

Canes win in the shootout!

It certainly wasn't the best game I've seen the Canes play all year, but they pulled it out in the end, which is all that mattered. I still want to see some better play from the team before the playoffs, but a win is a win and I'm happy with it.

Martin Gerber was excellent in the shootout and Matt Cullen provided the only goal needed. He has been awesome in shootouts this year!
