Default Brind'Amour has surgery again...

Sounds like he should still be ready for Opening Night though...

RALEIGH - The Carolina Hurricanes will be without captain Rod Brind'Amour for most of preseason training camp.

Brind'Amour underwent surgery Tuesday on his left knee to repair torn cartilage. It's the same knee he badly injured last season, forcing him to miss the last 22 games.

"It was a little 'house-cleaning' procedure," general manager Jim Rutherford said of the operation, "It was expected. We felt it was best to have it performed now instead of, say, the start of the season.

"He'll be out a few weeks and will miss most of training camp. But we don't have any concerns about Roddy. He's always working out and he has been skating hard, and he'll be ready opening night."

The Canes, who begin training camp Friday, will open the regular season Oct. 10 against the Florida Panthers at the RBC Center.
Brind'Amour tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee last season, requiring reconstructive surgery. He has been skating and leading informal workouts at the RecZone the past few weeks.

I'm not too awfully worried. Sounds like some risidual clean up from the first surgery, its certainly not a rarity in a case like his. I'm sure he will be fine and 100% soon enough.

Surgery again? Well, I sure hope he is ready in time, it sucked after he went down last season.

I think it helped us especially (Staal) when he went down.
We learned Staal can and will lead this team when 17 hangs em up.
