Its here... Its finally here!!! Tonight begins the new hurricane era. I just hope this year we get all our injuries over with early in the seasons. Its going to be great to see some new blood. I have been dying for this day. All of you all better be watching. Look out Florida Panthers there is a Hurricane comming through! Go Canes!

I can't wait! The preseason wasn't that impressive, and we have a lot of players who are out with injuries or returning from injuries...so the way that we start the season will be huge.

So the first period has just ended. The score is tied 2-2. We looked a lil sloppy to start off the game. I will call it nerves/rust whatever, but wow did we pour it on in the end. I really like how agressive Eaves is. I mean when hes not injured he is good. Also your boy brookbank solorca looked good as well. Cant wait till the second period. Go Canes!

Extremely sloppy on the defensive side of the ice. Pitkanen paying off early with a goal. Hopefully they can hold on.

For anyone out of the area DirecTV will show the first 4 or 5 games on their free preview of Centre Ice - channel 775 tonight.

Yup Second period over. Canes lead 4-3. It almost looks like were trying to find our identitiy. Last year we threw everything we had at the net. This year we look more like a finesse team. Well at least this game. I can tell you one thing though we have some shooters! Wow that shot from pitkanen was just sick! One more to go. Lets go Canes!

So there you go Carolina wins 6-4. Again its looks like they are more finesse. We had some defensive turnovers that killed us, but I think once we get a few more games under our belt this will be our best scoring team we have had YET! We have lightning in less than 24 hours. Great win! Way to start off the season! Go Canes!

Nice win for the Canes, though I don't like seeing them start off the season with the kind of game that we were so used to last year. Allowing four goals when you score six is fine, but you aren't usually going to be that productive.

All in all though, it's always nice to start off with a win...especially against a division opponent.

Good win. I'm with Solorca though, I don't like to see us give up 4 goals, Cam looked kind of shaky last night. On the bright side Eaves looked great, Roddy looks back to form and we certainly seemed to play with a lot more finesse then last season. Let's hope the goaltending shores up and the defense can meld together. At times last night the D showed flashes of being brilliant.
