I hope he does well for them. He can't be any worse than Charles Tillman was against Smitty.

Ehhh...
He was a good special teamer, but he never did much as a CB that impressed me. Every year he was supposed to threaten for the nickel position, but he never did. I think he'd probably be better fit as a safety. |

Meh... he was never that good at Special Teams either... just benefitted from the personnel surrounding him... He's a money-grubber and he's overrated too... the Bears overpaid for an overrated player.

I'd rather have him play here than there. Good signing for the Bear but my question is... why do our former players say that winning the Super Bowl is the reason they signed with the Bears? I think it would be hard to argue that Chicago is closer to a Super Bowl than we are.

That looks to be the case. He actually took less money to sign with the Bears because he had a shot at more playing time. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2371483 Dante blazes to Chicago Panthers cornerback Dante Wesley knew he had a home in Carolina based on the three-year deal they were offering him, but he opted to take less money to get a chance at more playing time. Wesley accepted a two-year, $2 million deal to move to the Bears and compete for playing time in that defense. His thinking is that he can get more time in Chicago because in Carolina he was playing behind Ken Lucas, Chris Gamble and Ricky Manning. On the regular defense, Wesley played only 10 percent of the downs. He was a good special teams player and will also do that for the Bears. -- John Clayton Last edited by VipMattMan; 03-16-2006 at 06:42 PM. |
