Please help me understand the corner situation for this week -

Is Lucas in the doghouse this much? Just reading between the lines of a few articles that have come out this week, it looks like there is a high likelihood of Lucas not starting this week despite being completely off the injury report. What in the world is going on? I agree that Marshall should continue starting, but putting Gamble over Lucas? Am I going insane? Is Fox really thinking about doing that? I know Lucas hasn't been the All-Pro caliber this year even when he's been healthy, but......come on. Chris Gamble has nearly made me puke at times this season. Fox is bluffing for some reason..........right? Of all the starters that have been wildly inconsistent this year, Fox decides to pull....Lucas?

Agreed, maybe he just wants him as healthy as he can get so he wont continue to play one game, and miss 2, or 3. If indeed lucas is in the doghouse and gamble is fox's guy i'd have to discontinue my faith towards this team.

believe me, the way Gamble tries to tackle people you'd almost think he thinks this is touch football. Always with the arm swiping the reciever around the waist and letting him get out of his grasp. I thought Gamble was one of our most athletically gifted people but if you can't wrap up, you shouldn't be playing defense.

i would hope so but i believe that fox will be loyal to his vet, and stick with gamble

I just can't believe that Fox would bench Lucas for Marshall. As bad as Lucas has been at points this season, Gamble has been much worse.

Yes, this the million dollar question, Why Gamble over Lucas? Didn't we pay Lucas a ton to start for us because we thought he was shut down corner for them? Next thing we will see is Carter or Taye Biddle starting over Keyshawn!

Is Lucas not starting or is he not making the trip? Possibly a punt return call? I cannot imagine that ANYONE would take Gamble over Lucas for playing corner....then again, Dan Henning might be in on it.

Yea, I posted the same question in a reply on another thread. No one seems to know. Why in the world would Gamble play a down if Lucas and Marshall can go?

Frankly, I'm more impressed with Morton and Byrum than Gamble, particularly the last few games. It would be nice if we would do something that made sense.

People at the press conference where Fox commented on the CB situation interpreted what he said as that Gamble may find himself on the bench this week.

The more I think about it, I think Fox might just be throwing that out there just to keep the Eagles wondering. I don't know how much difference it would make in their preparation, but who knows?? I've got a feeling he is bluffing. We'll see on Monday....

Lucas' comments indicate he genuinely believes that it's either him or Marshall. I assume he gets that from the coaching staff. That's what I find confusing.
