It's Not About Making The Playoffs..
You know, before the Chargers Broncos game last sunday they were talking about Jay Cutler and why Mike Shanahan decided to start him when everyone was wondering, "But you can easily make the playoffs with Plummer starting."
Well, I heard of the best quote from any coach right there from Shanahan; "It's not about making the playoffs, it's about winning the Superbowl."
His reason for starting Jay Cutler over Plummer is to win the Superbowl, maybe not this year but maybe in preperation for next year or the year after that. The team he has now he knows wont do anything in the playoffs, so why worry about making it to the playoffs with a questionable QB and questionable defense with alot of injuries?
He tried plugging in a player that might make a different in the whole team. He has the attitude every fan and coach should have. It's about winning the Superbowl... EVERY YEAR.
So next time you hear some halfwit fan tell you "You guys are a bunch of spoiled fans, we can't make the playoffs every year or win the superbowl every year" or "Look at the Cardinals and Lions" you tell them to go back to their little wine tasting convention because real fans expect their teams to go to the Superbowl every year, why else do you play in the NFL?
This year is a let down, even if we do make the playoffs because we suck, plain and simple. Coaching and players blew it and dissapointed alot of people, everyone has the right to be as pissed off as they want to be. Why, you ask? Because the Superbowl is out of reach this year and most likely even the fans who want us to make playoffs wont even be getting that wish most likely.
