according to Steve Reed, who just said it on Packman.

He wasn't my first choice, but I'm not at all disappointed, either.

I'll take anyone under the Dungy coaching tree. Let's see what he can do with a real defense.

Quote:
“We are very pleased to add Ron to our coaching staff as defensive coordinator,” said head coach John Fox. “He is an outstanding teacher, who has enjoyed great success as a coordinator in the League and brings a strong background of coaching championship defenses.”

Meeks joined the Colts in 2002 and helped Indianapolis move from 29th to eighth in total defense while jumping from 31st to seventh in scoring defense his first season. In 2007 the Colts led the league in scoring defense.

“This is a great opportunity,” says Meeks. “I have followed the Panthers from my involvement in football and they have done a great job over the years. I expect to continue that success while trying to improve as well.”

Thank God we gotta winner here. Now Foxy needs to keep his nose out of the meetings and let Meeks run the D. Whew, best news I've heard in a while.

Thumbs up

Interesting pick. I was hoping we get the DC from the Eagles, but I'm excited about Meeks coming here. I hope he is more aggressive than Trgo & will motivated our defense to play harder & put more pressure on the QB along with other problems they need to pick. He need to focus on fixing our secondary the most first though.

Could be an interesting mix. Hopefully he sticks with a big Dline (or brings in some big'uns) rather than the smaller type Indy is known for.
