i'm not convinced in dropping him until we see what he does with a guy that can pass rush on the other side,as far as up the middle,i though mcCargo would have been worth the fourth round pick.Albert boy will be lock up by the end of this year if he keeps playing like this,beside when have we made a jump on a great football talent in any category????we don't usually do big trades.we always get our good players from the draft.I'm tired of relying on a draft to get good talent in Carolina,its like playing Russian roulette.i can see peppers trying not to get injured,if he goes down then our pass rush is probably non existent.get peppers some salt and then we'll see if the man is non productive.

Prior to Don Gregory that was true. Gregory has proven much more effective running the college scouting than his predecessor.

Drafting well is vital if you want to be a perennial contender.

Actually, he hasn't been tripled that much--or even doubled. And he isn't dropping into coverage that much at all. I saw another thread that showed the stats on what you are saying--He is not getting doubled and tripled like some say he is.

You are all acting as if losing Peppers means we won't have a RDE next year. We will. The difference between the player who takes his place and Peppers is the issue. Will it be worth the $12 million difference in salary? THat is all I am saying. Peppers is a phenom-no doubt, but he has been underperforming for the past 30 or so games. Blame the coaches, Peppers, whatever--you still aren't getting the production to match what we all suspect he will ask for. Would I like to keep him--hell yes, but at what price?

don't pay as much,other teams have seen his production i doubt he'd be able to get the money he has been getting.a draft pick will require time to catch up to the nfl speed,and do we let brayton and Johnson start next year????gamble is replaceable,hell cbs in general are replaceable,lets wait till the later part of the year to see if they both deserve a contract

Much as I hate to say it (he's one of my favorite linemen) his play this year isn't pointing toward a blockbuster contract.

He'll have to majorly improve on the sacks given up and the false starts before the season is over or that gamble's likely to fail.

I will agree that Gross has looked avg and if Otah is ready to play LT he could be replaced. He is still a good lineman though and would get mega bucks on the open market.

I rewach every game and yes he is. Your talking out your ass and you know it. He gets two guards and a RB. If not the TE is chipping or they are rolling the play the other way. Trust me you may not see it real time but they game plan for him on every play. He is very active and our prob is the LE is one on one and is not beating his man.

You are telling me that Julius Peppers gets 2 Guards and a RB on blocking him on most plays and you accuse me of talking out of my ass? You need to learn to disagree without taking it so personally. You are wrong, it may have happened once, but I rarely see three--2 guards?. I see a T a lot, and that one has been a second stringer. I see a chip once in a while, rarely necessary. He has had some good plays, and he has drawn some attention, but he dhesn't scare people like he once did.

By the way, are you saying that he wasn't getting double and tripled in 2003-2005, when he was posting pro bowl numbers?
