Default Who should we be looking to draft?

If we stay at the 8th pick I like Deandre Jordan Texas A&M or Javale Mcgee Neveda both 7'0 both very athletic.

We're so young, I don't like the idea of another unexperienced guy getting tons of money.

Trade for a established player like we did last year with J-Rich. Obviously we can't afford another big star like J-Rich, but I'd like to see us get an established, solid post player.

Default Re: Who should we be looking to draft?

Okafor is the key. Unfortunately the draft happens before free agency so the FO will have to decide what they want to do with him. He turned down an offer that was heavily overvalued last season at 12 mil. a year. Although his numbers did not improve much this season, he stayed healthy for all of it which was a big knock on him in the past.

I just don't know what to do. Apparently he is very happy that Vincent is gone and he loves the Larry Brown hiring which may help keep him here. If I was forced to guess, he will test the free agency a little and will get offered a contract but less than what he turned down last year so he will sign his restricted tender and be with us one more year.

If we stay at #8, there are several PF prospects that should be there but they are all projects and Larry Brown rarely gives rookies and really young guys a lot of PT so it could be a wasted pick for 2 + seasons. Trading it for another vet would be nice but we can not absorb another 5 digit contract (or even a high four digit one) which will hinder our chances of getting an impact player that another team would be willing to part with.

How about trading down 4-6 spaces and perhaps picking up another team's veteran backup PF and then using the lower pick on one of the 2nd tier point guards in this draft. PF might be our biggest need but we have nobody on the roster to back up Felton and I doubt Boykins and Anderson will be re-signed. D.J. Augustine from Texas could be solid choice.

I still think we need a better back to the basket score and he needs to be athletic. Oak kills me when he miss plays perfect passes and he so stiff. He has no smooth movements to his game. I would love to come out of this draft with a young 7'0 footer who can run the floor and be a good option in the half court game. Oak can be the defender and rebounder and the rookie can be the guy we post up the most. IT wouldn't hurt to get Oak some rebounding in the front court either. We can get a back up guard in FA. Chris Duhon is a FA this year he would be a nice back up for Raymod.

I urge you guy to go to youtube and see the video of Deandre Jordan and Javale Mcgee I promise you will like what you see.

DeAndre Jordan averaged like 7 points a game and didn't even start for A&M in the tournament. He's a big time project.

Kevin Love gives you 15 and 10 as a rookie...Not to mention all the great outlet passes that will lead to easy baskets.

I see this happening.
Need some short term fixes. I'm a long term thinker but a short term fix actually help long term.

did larry brown ever have a true center the last couple of stops. even when he had the choice to go get a big center in N.Y., philly, or det?

new york= not really eddie curry? haha
philly= had mutumbo/ theo ratliff shot blockers
det= ben wallace, rasheed wallace, mehet okur

so not really same type of centers that okafor is, shot blocker types. on exception of rasheed and okur.

I wouldn't mind Kevin Love if we didn't already have Morrison. If we had drafted Gay or Roy then the Love pick would be a no brainer. I'm scared now though cause I don't want two white stiffs on the team and being the laughing stock of the league.

At 8, Kevin Love would be a great pick. If he can get in shape he can be a hell of a big man but he has a little bit of Sean May in him esp. around the gut. However I'd rather trade the 8, Wallace, and some Lexington BBQ for Carmello Anthony.

Since we'll be playing Orlando a lot it would make sense to get a player to match up with Howard, if not we'll continue to get beasted on. DeAndre Jordan is that player.

L ove is so unathletic I don't see how gets his shot up against guy who have better skill sets.

Plus I look at the league and don't see a PF that he can guard so he becomes a hinderance on Defence.

We need a player with a higher celling for growth I think love is as good as he is going to get and won't be much help to Oak.
