And yet we still ranked 2 spots higher in attendance than your New Orleans Hornets, even with CP3 lighting it up.

So I guess you could still say nobody cares about the Hornets.

We also sold out 20 games after the All-Star break and all of the playoffs, where the N.O Arena was mentioned as having one of the best homecourt advanteges in the playoffs. Good luck in 2020 or so when the Bobcats get in as an 8th seed.

Awww, I'm glad that comparing your franchise to an expansion team makes you feel better.

You still have a rapist for an owner.

And that's why New Orleans is such a fine, upstanding city.

No, that's pretty much every city that doesn't have some kind of morals/family values chip on their shoudler. Clippers or Knicks fans probably wouldn't care if a serial killer was an owner just as long as the team won.

Yeah, who cares if the owner should be in prison, but instead gets special consideration because of his wealth and social status.

After all, this is America!

You're lucky that Shinn actually resigned Paul, he didn't give guys like Baron, or Alonzo, the contract they deserved.

But yeah, OKC Barons have a cool uniform, but the name is quite weird.

Shinn and Woolridge are losers. Good riddance. And, to think...people bitch about Bob and MJ.

Actually he gave Baron a max contract, he also gave large contracts to Magloire and Mashburn but all three were traded in 04-05 in Byron Scott's first year when the Hornets were rebuilding. Shinn hasn't been cheap at all in New Orleans from giving CP3 a max contract, to signing Peja, trading for Tyson Chandler, and also extending David West.

FYI-Woolridge was bought out in '05 and has been replaced by a New Orleans investor.

More on Seattle.
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...alysis06m.html

I have said it a thousand times.
The NBA had MORE to gain financially by the Hornets leaving.
30 million for a "relocation fee" then 300 mil or so for the expansion fee.
No way the NBA was going to get 330 million any easier or any faster.

I agree. It is true, that the NBA does a fantastic job of selling out in cities where nobody else is biding for the "sports dollar" from them. Whether it's Charlotte before the Panthers came or Sacramento (where they are the hit of the town) or San Antonio or Salt Lake City, Orlando, Portland, etc. All of those cities seem to do very good in attendance.

It's the same thing a lot of new up-and-coming sport leagues are trying. Arena Football, for instance, trying what works putting teams in big markets like New York City, Philly, and so on but banking on less taken markets like Grand Rapids or MLS who has a team in Columbus.

Still... big markets like Miami, New York, LA is where the big shoe companies like Nike and Adidas love to market out of... Do you think Kobe would have gotten the deal with Adidas had he remained in Charlotte, early on? I was persoanlly shocked to see LJ with Converse... but they were somewhat sucessful.

I mean, seriously, if you think Nike wouldn't mind Lebron playing in New York City and having his shows plastered on some huge billboard overlooking Time Square compared to Cleveland, imagine how pissed Nike is about Kevin Durant, this all-star icon up and coming senstation stuck in nowhere Oklahoma City, if Seattle's market share wasn't bad enough! haha
