Just what we needed, another high dollar production about mysterious airplane crashes. One guy describes it as Lost meets Alien meets The X-Files.


I don't care how aggravating the story lines may be......Sooooooooooo much better than reality tv!

If this is the series about the FBI team (one of them is Josh Jackson, right?) who investigates paranormal stuff as a part of an investigation into someone experimenting with the human race, then it looks good. If it's anything else, I dunno.

And I also wanna start on the Doll House, the new Joss Whedon series.



It also looks more like X-Files to me, has episodes but with a continuous story underlying it. I stopped watching Lost halfway thru the 2nd season so I don't know if it's that way as much anymore or not.

On a side note, during JJ's panel at the San Diego Comic Con he revealed that there will be a Cloverfield 2 but it will not be a sequel. Instead it will be something very "surprising". It was all he would say about it.

As soon as the first one hit the screen everyone involved was asked it there would be a sequel. Only the director stated that they might make a 2nd one but it would basically be about the same night the monster struck except it will be the story of how a whole different cast of characters were affected by it. That might be what JJ is talking about. It kinda makes sense considering Rolling Stone interviewed him in the spring and asked him if that photo of a torn up animal on the beach seen on 1-18-08.com was the dead monster and he confirmed it was that the missles finally killed it. If the monster was dead then no sequel.

I just watched this via a stream on the net, and I thought it looks promising. It was pretty good definitely, I like the actors, even the dawson creek homo did good .

A few parts DO seem x-fileish, but it's not a copy cat at all and I don't think it's dealing with aliens at all either. I'm going to watch the next episode definitely.

One thing I found funny was the music before commercials or end scenes is totally the same Lost music .

If you watch the movie and listen carefully at the end, the monster is still alive. You'll find this on numerous boards/etc. about the movie. A sequel was pretty much a done deal a while ago.

The only surprise would be if the sequel is actually good movie. With a title like "Cloverfield 2", I doubt it.

so far pretty outlandish and disappointing. and that dawsons creek punk has always grated on my nerves but calling the star "sweetheart" is pushing the envelope.
