Never went to band camp (too busy with football and such) but a friend of mine who was the school's best trumpet player had a "band camp" story.

This other jackhole who also played trumpet got hold of his mouthpiece, placed it on the end of a certain body part for which the shape fit neatly and took a great big wizz through it.

How did my buddy respond?

He cussed the guy, then boiled the mouthpiece and used it again.

(my suggestion was that he buy himself a new mouthpiece and shove the old one up the other guy's ass)

I was never in band. I have never played any musical instrument but one in my life. When my Dad wasn't looking I would run my fingers over the strings of his guitar because I liked the sound.

I got one for my kid - didn't happen at band camp, but happened band season - try having your tonsils removed the same year you're a field soloist (he did choose to do it so he'd have time to somewhat recover before the first competition). But during one of those marathon 12 hour practice days, scabs decide to come off and you come off the field just in time to spit massive quantities of blood. My kids never bothered to tell me, but I heard about it from the instructors.
