When I tell people that I'd rather win the season series against the Yankees (and hopefully make them miss the playoffs) than have the Sox make the playoffs they think I'm crazy, but I don't care.

Interesting that you say that gasman.

Many Bear fans I know place more emphasis on beating Green Bay twice during the regular season versus making the playoffs.

I don't get it.
I'd take 14-2 with the two losses being to Green Bay and a trip deep in to the playoffs over 2-14 with wins over GB every single year.

Guess I'm not fan enough.

I kind of think you had to be a fan of the Red Sox "back in the day" to get it. We kind of resigned ourselves to not going to the WS, or at least winning it, for a long time, and so winning the series against the Yanks became a goal because we hated them so much. And where I grew up we had just enough Yankee fans to rub it into.

And there is 1978. Always 1978.
